Canon's Best L-Series Lens
- November 17, 2018[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lens is phenomenal, there are no other words. Read Canon's specs and one quickly sees that the internal elements are special. The results are some of the best pictures possible. Focus is lightening quick and tack-sharp every time. At wide apertures, the bokeh is gloriously pleasing and easily creates a nice contextual photo expected of a lens in this focal length. It is wonderful for landscapes, full body portraits and general photography. It has become my go-to lens on my second full-frame camera, my primary camera being a Canon 24-70 f2.8 LII. I don't leave home without this lens. It is expensive, much more than Sigma's offering, but so worth the extra investment. After trying the 35mm Sigma Art lens, which didn't play nice with the 5D4, this lens was purchased instead -- no regrets especially since it is also fully weather-sealed. Many reviewers say that this is Canon's best lens. This reviewer agrees.

Def worth the money!
- April 10, 2017[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been waiting for this lens for a long time and they finally released the II version which is WAY better than the original. Very tack sharp images, very fast focus/low light focus. Great bokeh! The lens cap is ok once you get used to it, but I still prefer the other L glass mount type. Great color, CA is not an issue. Great lens!!

Hard to beat this lens
- May 17, 2018[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 35mm ii 1.4 is simply as good as it gets right now in terms of a 35mm prime at an affordable price. I spent days weighing my options between this and the Sigma Art 1.4. Went with this one and I'm glad I did. I own the 24mm Sigma Art, and I use it a lot, but it doesn't focus in the dark like the Canon. There's just some special sauce Canon uses when it comes to their auto focusing that just blows everyone else out of the water. If you purchase this lens, you will be preventing any headache you might get from a lens problem. It's just a great lens. SO sharp.

One Word EXCELLENT
- December 11, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am going to keep this short and sweet this is an excellent lens with great sharpness, color, contrast etc. Yes the lens is bigger than version one, yes the lens is heavier than version one but honestly I love the way it handles and feels in the hand. There is some vignetting but I actually like it for certain shots and it can be removed EASILY if not wanted. This is definitely for the professional. I do think it is a little bit expensive but quality cost sometimes and the quality is top notch. A big thumbs up.

Prime Lens for Intermediate to Expert Photographer
- August 17, 2017[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I heard this was coming out I was super excited to see the older model upgraded after being out for many years. I was looking for a 35mm prime lens and heard great things about this one. You can really push it in low lighting with the proper settings and steadiness. My only complaint would be how heavy it is.

Love It
- June 1, 2018[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this lens and it's on my camera nearly all of the time. Wide enough to capture most scenes and yet still wonderful for portrait work. The f1.4 aperture provides nice low-light abilities and bokeh. Definitely invest in this lens if you're interested in using prime lenses. You'll be happy that you did!

Very Nice Lense, with some drawbacks
- November 4, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very very Nice Lense High Resolution, Clear Picture, Nice AF, Nice Color setting - Bit red-like type color setting, Nice for Human pic or snap shot PROBLEMS Bit Heavy - better in studio than outside Vignetting problems - when F value is low expansive - sigma 35mm F1.4 ART is 1/2 price.

Amazing Lens
- May 7, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife is a very talented photographer and accompanies this lense with a Canon 5D MK II. She has a few other lenses and wanted another one for candid/moment photos of our family and such. She even rented this lense and a 50mm and decided on this one and she takes some fantastic photos.
