The Canon Directional Stereo Microphone DM-E1 mounts to your camera hot shoe and connects through a 3.5 mm plug to deliver clean, controlled audio for video. Three directional settings let you match the microphone to the scene: a dedicated shotgun setting isolates a subject in front of the camera, while 90-degree and 120-degree stereo settings capture a narrower or wider sound stage. A shock mount built into the design suppresses camera and lens operation noise, and the supplied wind screen reduces wind and other ambient interference outdoors. Powered by a single CR2032 lithium button cell for approximately 100 hours of continuous recording, with a power status indicator lamp.
