The Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 STM Lens combines an expansive ultra-wide field of view with a compact, lightweight design, making it a versatile everyday prime for full-frame Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras. Its 16mm focal length provides a dramatic perspective ideally suited to landscapes, architecture, interiors, astrophotography, vlogging, and content creation, while its portable construction makes it easy to carry for travel and everyday shooting. The bright f/2.8 maximum aperture benefits photography in available-light conditions, provides additional control over depth of field, and contributes to the lens's sleek form factor. Its optical design incorporates one aspherical element to help control distortion and promote a high degree of sharpness for accurate rendering. Canon's Super Spectra Coating minimizes flare and ghosting, helping maintain strong contrast and color fidelity when working in bright or backlit conditions. An STM stepping motor delivers fast, smooth, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance for both still photography and video recording, making the lens especially useful for vloggers and hybrid creators. Despite its ultra-wide perspective, the RF 16mm also offers impressive close-up versatility with a minimum focusing distance of just 5.1" and a maximum magnification of 0.26x. A configurable Control Ring provides convenient adjustment of aperture, ISO, or exposure compensation directly from the lens, while the rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh. Combining portability, a bright aperture, close focusing, and an expansive field of view, the RF 16mm f/2.8 STM is a flexible wide-angle prime for creative photo and video applications.
