Sara's mom, Jeanette (Christina Cox, Shadow Hunters, Elysium) is a jealous and an overly competitive dance mom, who will stop at nothing to see her daughter win. She was always resentful that she gave up her own professional stage career to become a housewife, so when her husband Dean (Doug Murray, Spotlight) threatens to divorce her if she continues to put the competition above the family's well being, she sees her only way out of the troubled marriage is to make sure her reluctant daughter takes home the grand prize.
