Compact, easy to setup and use, a Great find!
- November 3, 2021This is a great printer that is really useful. using the different types/sizes of labels makes this really versatile as does the software to create the labels. Very happy with this machine to date.

Impressive printer - two colour mode is great
- February 17, 2022I was keen to replace an existing label printer and was intrigued by the ability to print black and red labels. I didn't want or need the cost and expense of a full colour printer. The printer is a little bulkier than I'd expected - but then it can cope with some pretty large labels. Getting up and running was quick and easy and the P-Touch Editor software makes it easy to access the features. One of the things I love about the software is the ability to check the media in the printer. No longer do I need to open the printer up to check which label type is loaded. A small touch, but a very useful one. I've been impressed by the speed and print quality of this printer and would definitely recommend it.

Great printer. Horrible software.
- February 3, 2023I've finally managed to get the printer to do what I want to do but I still can't figure out how to turn a list of addresses in MS Word into a source of labels for all addresses. The software that runs the printer is HORRENDOUSLY complicated and not at all intuitive. Just want to print out 30 labels for your usual suspects in Word or Excel? Or a single-name label? Good luck. If there's an ultra-simple demo or instruction sheet on how to do the simplest thing I've yet to find it. If you want to create your own custom label that may or may not link to your addressee list then enjoy the hours of fiddling around to make this happen. Kludgy is the only word that adequately describes the software that comes with the printer.

Couldn't be easier
- December 6, 2024I am 80 years old and my hand writing is dreadful due to arthritis so I bought this hoping it would make it easier to address envelopes and packages. I have worked for years in IT and never found any tech product so ridiculously easy to use. Truthfully the instructions are not really necessary. Used with a Macbook Pro it was completely intuitive and I literally printed my first label within five minutes of taking it out of the box. Since then it has performed flawlessly and I couldn't be more delighted. Whoever designed this little printer deserves a medal.

Easy, High Quality, Two Color
- April 8, 2020Bought a refurbished one. It's been nothing but excellent. Fired right up, P-Touch Editor is AMAZINGLY easy to use. I've used Photoshop for a decade, and I just import my JPEG, hit "check media", and it prints right out! It's easy to load paper, I use it for produce labels so I was happy to see the two color (red/black) is waterproof and extremely durable. I just can't say enough good things about it. Note: Power chord is only about 4 feet, which isn't a huge deal, just realize you will need an extension chord if you're running it a long way.

Awesome label printer
- March 27, 2019The Brother QL-800 is an excellent label maker with a very good selection of label types and sizes. The printer is fast and provides great looking labels. I previously had to unload all of the paper from my regular printer to address envelopes, but that didn't work for larger envelopes and packages. I now have great looking address labels for my envelopes and packages. Another good feature is the software is embedded in the printers memory. I have only one complaint and that is the embedded software does not allow taking advantage of the Black, Red, and White labels. I get a warning in order to print with red I must install PTouch Editor. I already have PTouch Editor that I use for my awesome PT1960 label printer, but it doesn't recognize my new QL-800.

Perfect for two colour labels
- April 10, 2018I was a bit wary of buying this printer as the specs seemed too good to be true. I spent some time trying to get it installed on my windows 7 then tried windows 10 and went without a hitch. It is all it is claimed to be. Easy to understand artwork, fast and great colours, I tried to smudge the print but was impressed it did not budge. The included artwork is impressive also and easy to setup and print. The footprint is small and compact and will suit any busy office. For the price it is unbelievable, I would recommend it to anyone

Good for my purposes
- December 29, 2017I use the printer for file labels and address labels. I don't do a huge volume, but I need a few new ones every week. This label printer works great for me. It's always ready. I do agree that on occasion the software will reject the red/black paper, but once you have your templates set up, it's not really an issue. I wish I had purchased the version that holds 2 different sizes of paper, that would have been best for me, but this is still ok. Paper is not difficult to change or load.

A great printer for labels!!!
- September 25, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The QL-800 was very simple and easy to set up. It replaced my 6-year old QL-570. Also, it worked with the same label rolls that I had in my supply box, soI didn't have to go out and re-stock with my o0ld stock obsolete! Operations is simple using the Brother P-Touch software. I can load label info via Excel files and batch print in just a few minutes! Whether they are for mailings or labeling stuff around the house, the QL-800 is an awesome solution for printing legible lables!

It's growing on me
- March 5, 2018I could have used better "getting started" guidance. I am gradually learning learning but I had a heck of a time getting started! But I'm old! Also, I don't buy the advice to remove label stock from printer when not in use. You waste a label every time you do that. I just leave it in as long as I will be using several times a day. I found the "import function" and I will eventually learn how to direct the database to various formats. Fun.
