When we purchased a new filter a couple of years ago, it would go in but as soon as you pressed the tab to get water, it would pop out. The Frigidaire web site showed how to fix this step-by-step. The part needed was behind where the filter snaps in, and was not very expensive. You do have to take the lines, etc. apart, but the video shows how to do this very clearly. It took a bit of time to pause the video while following the instructions, but it worked and no leaking or popping out since then. Its time to order a replacement filter, so hopefully no problems with the new filter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the way this water filter makes the water taste and I have loved using it and having it in my Frigidaire refrigerator. The problem is that as of a couple of years ago, they remodeled this filter and now there is a problem with the filter leaking water. I am now on my 2nd water filter that is leaking water into my fridge. It started off slowly and has now gotten worse with the latest water filter. I have to have a container to catch the water when the filter is used (ie water is dispensed). I thought it was my refrigerator and was about to have a technician come fix it when I found online that I am not the only person with this problem. While I love the water it gives, I can't afford to keep changing filters. The water filters are expensive enough as it is.

It lasts for a long time, makes excellent filtered water and ice in your fridge. I don't like the amount of time/water required to initiate the filter (running your water filter for 5min continuously with sputtering of air is not particularly fun), and for the first day or so, there is definitely a tinge of carbon flavor to the water. But after that, it is perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the way that these replacement filters easily eject with the push of a button and install by quickly sliding and securely snapping in to place. They are much more convenient than twist-in style filters that sit there leaking while you attempt to wrestle them off. The water quality is also very good tasting and remains that way for a very long time. I notice no change in taste during their life, even long-after the recommended replacement intervals.

(Our water source has received awards for taste and quality twice in three years.) When we use water dispenser filtered using the Frigidaire - PureSource2™ Replacement Water Filter in our Frigidaire refrigerator, it makes it world class. Frankly, we seldom buy bottled water as a result saving us tons of money. We couldn't be happier.

My water is pretty hard with minerals and such and this does a good job of filtering those out. I drink a lot of water and use the ice maker, so this does well. Push of a button and the old one comes out, the new one goes in. Run a big glass of water through it and the charcoal flavor is gone. Wish it wasn't quite so expensive though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this type of filter for several years since this is what my refrigerator requires. It's not cheap but lasts a long time. I have well water that is good and am not home a lot to use the water from the fridge so the filter lasts me about a year before the light indicates that it is time to change the filter. It filters both the water and ice so both tase great.

I don't really understand the negative reviews. I've owned my Frigidaire for over 13 years, and never had a problem with metallic-tasting water or ice. As for the reviewers who stated the filter kept popping out, did they read the directions? There are two plastic caps covering the prongs in the back which need to be removed before the filter can snap into place.

I just replaced my refrigerator water filter, and notice that although the newly purchased brand name Frigidaire filter looks identical to the one I replaced, and the price has not been changed; the capacity - as specified on the (new, red) package - has been decreased from 400 gallons to 200 gallons between recommended changes. What is the reason for this?

We also use a lot of ice and water from our refrigerator and feel confident that our water and ice are free of any contaminants. We hope that our Frigidaire refrigerator will last another 10 years with the help of Frigidaire Pure Source 2 filter.
