    This filter is Junk!!!

    Reviewed by - October 16, 2018

This part does not fit period. The tabs broke off when I tried installing it so now I have a very expensive fridge that I cant replace the filter on! I went to every website and watched every video on installing the RPWFE and nothing mentions the problems replacing the old RPWF with this ROWFE ! Don't waste your money!

    Replacing Water Fiilter

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 7, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You need to have the model number to buy the correct size water filter for my fairly new refrigerator Since it was a recent purchase at Best Buy, they looked up my model number for me. I really appreciated them helping me in that way. I just followed the directions on the box to take the old water filter out & put the new filter in. It’s really important to replace this filter to keep the quality of the filtered water. It should be replaced about every 6 months. I appreciate the sales associates going out of their way to accommodate me getting the right size. Especially since I was already at the store without the model number.

Easy Replenish will not stop after cancelling

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 14, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was ordered and shipped with Best Buys Easy Replenish, however all of my easy replenish orders have been canceled. Trying to talk with customer service has not been helpful as the ones I talked to didn't know about Easy Replenish and wanted me to explain it to them. Screen shots attached to show they have been canceled.

Doesn’t fit GE monogram model ZIR300NPKAII

    Reviewed by - September 27, 2024

I have a GE model ZIR300NPKAII and went to replace the filter. The adapter on original filter is different than replacement filter. I bought 2 different filters with 2 different part numbers on the same RPWFE filter 239D5158P001 vs 239D5158P002. 2 doesn’t fit. Where can I buy one?

    Poor function

    Reviewed by - January 16, 2024

It filters just fine, but will not reset the counter via the embedded RFID chip. Yes, I know how to put it in. This is the second filter that would not reset the counter.

    Difficult to remove and install

    Reviewed by - August 17, 2019

This filter only filters water for our ice-maker. We do not have the drinking in or outside of the door water feature. As far as I can tell, the filtered water for our ice is very good. However, the device is very difficult to remove and install, especially for arthritic fingers and hands. I usually throw out at least 2 buckets of ice afterwards, as the ice that comes out after installing a new filter is dirty. I mean really dirty! so what's up with that? There is little, if any, deposit sediment in the bottom of a glass when the ice is melted, a good thing. Wish the engineers could design a filter not so hard to remove or install!

    Not so good

    Reviewed by - April 10, 2021

We use Zero Water filter pitchers for our drinking water. We were hoping to be able to use our cold filtered water from the refrigerator. We tested the water with our Zero Water filter testers on water from the fridge after replacing the old filter with a BRAND NEW one. It tested well over the limit where it is recommended to replace a zero water filter filter. It did test lower than it did before we switched out the nasty old fridge filter, but I'm not drinking the water dispensed from the fridge and neither is anyone else. Having this expensive option on our refrigerator was a waste of our money. We will not use it.

    Replacement is difficult

    Reviewed by - June 1, 2020

This refrigerator came with the GE package of appliances in our new house. I don't like the machine, but am not going to replace a brand new appliance. We did, however, purchase an extended warranty for it, just in case. Replacing the filter in this refrigerator is difficult, unless you are either very tall, or stand on a step stool. Even if you are pulling it straight out, it is very, very difficult to remove. And equally difficult to install the new one. This filter doesn't last near long enough for the steep price point, and you're stuck using a GE filter, to make sure it is compatible electronically.

Tricky at first but works fine. Does it's job.

    Reviewed by - May 16, 2017

This was my first time every changed a water filter inside of a fridge. I made sure to watch a couple youtube videos prior. I am really glad I did. The most important thing I learned is that the installation process is VERY sensitive. When I first put this filter in I jammed it in too hard and the water was spraying everywhere! It was awful. So then I cleaned up the mess outside and inside the fridge. Removed it and put it back in gently...no water came out. Again, cleaned the mess inside the fridge. It took a couple tries of gently but not too gently clicking the filter in to make it work. It is in now and works just fine. Just be prepared to clean up water if you are new to this. :)

    Hard to install

    Reviewed by - June 17, 2019

Received the filter in a timely fashion. I followed directed as stated, but found the actual installation to be awkward and difficult. It was necessary to use certain amount of force which I hesitated to apply. My girlfriend, who has the same model of refrigerator, advised me to use the force necessary as that is what she does. The red indicator light will not turn off even though the new filter is drained and set. My friend advised me she had the same issue. Told me that it happens every other filter change or so! I’ve marked on my calendar when to replace this filter! Still, I love this refrig!!
