Dicing poor & Impossible to clean

    Reviewed by - October 11, 2020

I bought this for the dicing feature as I already own a great food processor. The dicing blade smashes softer vegetables like tomatoes. The dicing blade is impossible to clean as food gets traps where the blades intersect. The tool meant to help clear the dicing blade is showing wear after 2 uses!

    Great until it wasn't

    Reviewed by - February 7, 2017

We purchased this as a Christmas present to ourselves. While we didn't use all of the blades this came with we did use it a lot for shredding cheese and vegetables. We noticed recently that the base where it attached to the Kitchenaid mixer was cracking in several places where the top cover locks into place as well as the bottom of the base near the drive mechanism. One piece of the plastic cracked off and landed in our food we were preparing. Fortunately we found it before the piece was eaten.

Where Have You Been All my Life?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love cooking and never owned a kitchenaid mixer until about 3 months ago. After purchasing a kitchenaid mixer, I started looking into attachments. I talk about kitchenaid as though it’s a new friend. My Social media family and Everyone around me knows how excited I am about my new Kitchenaid mixer. I even influenced two of my friends to go out and purchase one! My phone conversations became all things Kitchenaid! I have talked about Kitchenaid so much until A friend of mine decided to bless my life by buying me the food processor! I can’t believe how much I love this item. It has made my cooking so much easier. And has taken my recipes to a new level. I am actually looking for ways to use it. I love how sturdy dependable and easy to use the food processor is. Thanks Kitchenaid, I am grateful to have you in my life!

Should be built with better materials.

    Reviewed by - November 2, 2018

Purchased a year or so ago and while it has performed as expected the casing isn't up to par. With minimal use (approximately 5-10 uses shredding cheese) the body has a major crack in the side. I've followed all the directions for use, cleaning, and storage to ensure the value of my purchase made worthwhile. I wouldn't recommend buying one until the issue is resolved (I've seen a few similar posts) or they offer a model with a complete metal housing.

    It okay

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 13, 2017

I received this as a Christmas gift to help with some recipes I wanted to try. I get a little frustrated because when I am using the attachments I still get some of my foods not shredded or diced the way I was expecting. But I am still enjoying it because it beats doing it the manual way which I still tend to do on occasion depending what perfection I am in the mood for. It is easy to use, I still read the directions to make sure I put it together properly. Sometimes though I am afraid that I will get food on the part that isn't submersible in water and that makes me nervous.

    Impossible to clean everything

Pieces of food get stuck under the lid seal and cannot be removed. Is this a defect on all models, or a manufacturing problem only on mine?

Cracked main body of attachment after light use

    Reviewed by - September 6, 2024

I bought this less than 3 years ago and I used it very lightly, only a few times a year. Now I noticed that the main body of the attachment is cracked (I don't know when it cracked) and customer service tells me that it is out of warranty, they say that this is not normal to happen, but they cannot do anything. It is disappointing that they have such quality issues given the price of the products. It generally works well, but for hard vegetables the dicer sometimes gets stuck despite being used on the recommended speed and also cleaning up the dicer is not easy, because the tool they provide for this is not really functional.

    Extremely dangerous!

    Reviewed by - February 9, 2023

I was happy with my Food processor and loved to make salads quickly and with even cube shapes until yesterday it almost killed me. I was cutting vegetables for salad using the food processor, and already did all cucumbers and most of potatoes when all of a sudden the entire head of the processor began to rotate around its axis at crazy speed (I cut vegetables in mode 10, as the instruction says). The processor sawed off the protective bolt that held it in place and began to spin moving towards the exit. It was so scary, it could hit me in the head at any moment or crash my kitchen. I could not decrease the rotating speed as it was very dangerous to come close, but I was able to turn off the electrical outlet and it saved me. I hope that Kitchen Aid representatives read this and will be able to fix their products so that it will not be so deadly dangerous.

    Amazing tool

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I love it, it works so much faster than a hand held chopper and is so easy to use and the storage case that came with it for the blades gives me peace of mind that no one can cut themself on the blades as they are safely stored away.
