I received this pasta maker as a Christmas gift last year. We have used it 3 times, the first 2 uses were great and we had great pasta. Last evening we were making spaghetti when our pasta attachment suddenly cracked and exploded. Pieces went flying across the kitchen like an IED had gone off. We were using the recommended kitchen aid pasta recipe as well as the instructions provided with the pasta attachment. 3 members of my family were gathered around the mixer watching the pasta come out, including our 7 year old, when the device exploded. I love the stand mixer I have but would not recommend this pasta attachment to anyone as it's hazardous to your health and wellbeing. An absolute disappointment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Gourmet Pasta Press So I make fresh pasta about once a week, this item is great to make some noodles you might not normally make by hand. After doing extensive research for the best rigatoni doughs, I decided to use the recipe in the operator’s manual and it was perfect!!!! I’m anxious to try a new shape each time I use it. Homemade yammy things highly recommend brand kitchen needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never knew making fresh pasta was this easy. I read about it and finally decided to get the Kitchenaid Gourmet Pasta Press. Out of the box, the device is very solid, comes with 6 different pasta discs, a dough pusher and a cleaning tool. I can now easily make homemade spaghetti and macaroni. I thought it would be complicated but all I needed was flour, eggs, salt and olive oil. The pasta press comes with a detailed instruction booklet which was very easy to follow and guided with how to set up the attachment and what speed I should use for all the different type of pasta. The family loved the pasta which tasted much better than the ones we usually buy at the grocery store. When it comes to cleaning, it was fairly easy as the auger inside the unit can easily be removed and can be washed in the dishwasher. All in all, I really love my new pasta press and it goes without saying that it gets a perfect rating from me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in love with this pasta maker attachment!! You can make six varieties of pastas using the different dies. The attachment is sturdy and the making the pasta itself is very easy. You just insert walnut sized dough balls and voila, you have homemade pasta made with fresh ingredients. It's really fun to use the pasta cutter and the cleaning tool is very effective. The cleaning time can be slightly long but I enjoy the process, so no complaints here. Overall, it's a very enjoyable experience and I personally felt very proud serving homemade pasta to my friends and family!

I'd highly recommend getting one of these no matter who you are - it's easy to use, it makes perfect pasta every time - just dust walnut sized balls of whatever pasta flour your using pop the balls one at a time in your pasta press and out comes your pasta! it's so easy! perfect pasta every time! clean up is easy too - don't hesitate - you can make whole grain pasta with free range eggs or chick pea flour pasta or red lentil pasta - or plain flour pasta! You will be so popular at summer bbq's with your fresh pasta salads! - so cheap, easy - always at hand - fresh pasta!!! - I'd say..... YES BUY THIS GOURMET PASTA PRESS!!!!!!

We made homemade fusili pasta and she fancied up some store sauce with sautéed onions and ground hamburger. Gotta say fresh pasta really does taste better and is the perfect al dente! The dough and cooking was easy! The extruding took about 45 minutes but it made a enough pasta for a midsized family! The dough making and cooking is really fast, you will need patience for extrusion. I did discover dough recipe I followed dried fast so I did incorporate olive oil into kneaded balls before extruding. The family found it to be a hit! I am happy to know that you can freeze pasta for it to last longer for later use! I did clean pressing plate immediately after use to make sure dough didn't dry into crevices. The little pin tool was helpful!
