I am pleased with these speakers
- March 15, 2013[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these speakers to replace some that used to sit on the floor behind my TV viewing sofa. Unfortunately my grandkids decided they were good stepping stools - and since the speakers were facing upwards, well let me just say that was not the best way to take care of those old speakers. Now with the ceiling mounted speakers, I do not have to worry about the grandkids ruining them. So far I am pleased with the speakers and they do work well when I play a Blu-Ray video that has good stereo/dolby sound. I used the boxes they were shipped in - upside down over the speakers, next to the drywall in the attic, to keep the insulation from getting into the speaker area.

Great little speakers for the price
- February 14, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a relative low basement ceiling and wanted to use ceiling speakers for side surround sound speakers for the home theater. All my other speakers are Klipsch. Taking them out of the box, I was first impressed with how well them seem to be made. The instructions are good and these were a snap to install. Truly, they cannot get much easier. If you have to take one out because you forgot and left your flashlight in the ceiling opening,...well, that is easy too. With my surround sound receiver, I am able to isolate the sound of each speaker pair. I am quite pleased with the sound, both with the TV and with music. Both highs and lows are reproduced well. These are not high end speakers so don't expect sound that knocks your socks off but, for the price they do a good job. As surround speakers, they add a dimension that was missing before and do it well. If I have any complaints, the aluminum cover is a bit flimsy and will bend easily so be careful when you are putting it on. The look just fine and unobtrusive once installed.

Pleasantly surprised by how good these sound
- July 16, 2014[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a pair of these Klipsch speakers for sound in my dining room and living room area. I expected decent sound from Klipsch but had reasonably low expectations regarding a nice full sound. Installation of these speakers was very simple and clean. The hardest part for me was running wires but that's due to having imbecile builders that closed up the walls before running the wires. The speakers have a very clean, full sound and considering their size, they have plenty of clean bass for my application. I can play these soft or loud and they sound great. In true Klipsch form they perform with low power better than most small speakers. I can't recommend these highly enough for their performance, fit and finish, and price.

It is actually 5"25 instead of 6.5"
- September 9, 2017The Klipsch R1650C 6.5" In-Ceiling Speaker is actually 5"25 instead of 6.5". So many fantastic previous reviews blinded my judgement and I ordered 5 of this product. Now I need to return them because of the misleading labelling and false information in the description FROM THE MANUFACTURER. Sound quality wise them are not bad but 5.25" is NOT GOOD enough to produce or yield the frequency response I expected. What a shame.

Exceptional sound for a small surround speaker
- January 26, 2011[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a less invasive surround speaker. I am a die hard Klipsch enthusiast and still use my 1985 Klipsch Heresy speakers. So, I opted to install these small speakers built into the wall. The result: not only looks better, BUT THE SOUND IS MUCH BETTER than my Klipsch SS.5 that I was using. So, not only did I end up with a better overall look, but I got an improvement in sound quality. This is an excellent speaker if you want to install the speaker into the wall, never have to worry about it again, especially if you can hardwire the connectivity one time, mount a wall bracket, employ the banana plugs, and then you're good to go for the next 20-30 years! And you can paint the speaker rim and grilles to match the paint color on your wall. Outstanding.

My approval for Dolby Atmos
- March 29, 2016I paired these with my current Polk 7.1 speaker setup, initially i was going to go with Polk in ceiling to match everything but i did some reading online and made this purchase instead, install was easy, majority of the time was spent fishing wires for the speakers, after install was complete they really do sound amazing for what they are. in my opinion ceiling speakers are the way to go over up firing gimmicky atmos speakers any day. they can handle the power from my AVR just as well the rest of my polk speakers and compliment each other nicely. I rated them a 4 for AQ as obviously being on the lower end of the scale they arent going to compete with the 8-10x priced speakers that are available.. but to compliment a mid range speaker setup these are perfect.

Little over-priced
- December 31, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this on an impulse without doing any research. Brought it home and for some reason I thought it had 2 speakers. The sound was good when we tested but ultimately needed 2 speakers. Was going to go back and buy a second speaker when I could do the yamaha 2 way I. Ceiling speakers. Ended up returning this one and bought the Yamaha -2 speakers for the same price as this one with fantastic sound. Would recommend this one to those not looking for a bargain.

Excellent surround in ceiling!
- January 28, 2012[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Always a fan of Klipsch, bought and installed these and have been VERY happy with the results! Replaced my Klipsch RSX-4 speakers (which were excellent) for a lower profile setup. Installation was easy, thanks to the design and template that comes in the package. Quality is excellent and the profile is quite discreet. For surround speakers, these actually have some notable bass response and general power. Very happy!

Amazing
- April 6, 2013[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very skeptical about in-ceiling speakers. In the past, I have known them to sound boxy and vibrate the ceiling or wall where they are installed. These are amazing. Not only are they "vibration-free", but the sound is very crisp as well. I have four of these in the ceiling in the rear of my home theater, with a pair of vintage electrostatic Magnepans (the ones with the true mylar ribbon tweeters) and Pioneer tower speakers for the front channels (A+B), with a Polk center channel. I am powering everything through a Pioneer Elite VX-53 receiver, with a Sony Elite Series STRDA-3100ES as a secondary amplifier/receiver. I have a true 9.1 setup and it wouldn't sound anywhere near as good as it does if I didn't have those rear channel Klipsch's installed. It blends amazingly well. I prefer these much more than my Bose rear channel speakers. The sound quality and clarity is double that of the Bose.

Just What I Wanted
- March 25, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These speakers were the first thing I bought for my new kitchen, about 9 months ago. I specifically wanted Klipsch because I like their "warm" sound. My LR speakers are also Klipsh. The kitchen is finished and the speakers are in. They sound great and blend into the ceiling nicely. My contractor, who used to do sound for bands, went out and bought the same speakers for his kitchen!
