Clark Gable and Ava Gardner play the love-fated pair in this rugged semihistorical saga of Lone Star destiny. Standing in the way: Thomas Craden (Broderick Crawford), the ardent independence advocate and paramilitary leader who desires Martha for himself. Vincent Sherman directs.
