The MPX-T680 has a new round top with spinning height adjust base. The T680 round top looks similar to the classic round top but it has been upgraded to a softer, more comfortable cushion and the top is now cloth. The T680 saddle tops have also been totally redesigned with comfort and ergonomics in mind. The shape of the saddle has changed and is now a bit wider. Also (and this is cool), the top tilts backward by two degrees. This tiny amount of tilt is designed to help improve the player's posture, stability, and prevents the feeling of sliding forward.

Mapex upgraded their throne bases, and now the 600 series also have these new upgraded tops as well. These new tops are softer, more comfortable, and more ergonomic. Mapex continues its tradition of providing drummers with professional grade gear at a better price option than all other competitors.
