Cute, easy, educational, but no 2020 games covid19
- April 24, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game is cute, but not very challenging so far. I'm not far into it so maybe it will get more challenging and interesting as I go. But after playing games like Donkey Kong, Mario Odasy, and Salt and Sanctuary this game seems boring. It has a lot of reading information about Olympic games of the past, and Nintendo history. But I had to add it to my collection, as there will be no 2020 games because of covid19.

Best game so far!!!!
- May 27, 2023[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game is so much fun. It is multiplayer and has many different options so my boys don’t get bored playing the same one over and over. Swimming, racing, surfing, fencing, boxing, karate, soccer, skateboarding and much more! It also has my sons favorite characters - sonic and Mario. Even the adults enjoy playing it!!

Best Mario and Sonic game yet
- November 18, 2019[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've played most of the Mario and Sonic games since they were introduced on the Wii and feel this is one of the, if not the strongest contender. From the onset you can choose how you want to play. You can start a story mode that takes you on an adventure through the 1964 Tokyo, or play any and all of the Olympic games available. There are quite a few including 10 retro games that are very fun. They can be played with motion (waiving the controller around) or classic controls (button presses) which is a fun option. If you're looking for a good multiplayer game this one is worth considering, and most games can be played with one joy-con to each player.

Mario and Sonic Olympics 2020*
- June 18, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have long enjoyed the Mario Olympic Games and was excited for what the switch iteration would be like. I have played the single player story as well as the multiplayer mode. The single player mode plays very slow. I could not even really get into it. The multiplayer game on the other hand was a lot of fun. The Rugby and Football (soccer) games setup lots of laughs. However some of the mechanics should be different. For example, individual sports (archery, gymnastics etc) would be more fun if each player went one at a time. That would really bring the heat. It is a fun game, but has some shortfalls and low replay ability.

Fun With Friends or Family
- December 28, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game really is better with others. It does have a story mode, but outside of that, you won't have much to do playing alone. Playing with friends or family is the way to go. The events are individual mini games and most are pretty fun to play. Only a few require motion controls. One thing that really bothers me is a lack of a tournament or Olympics mode when playing with friends. Instead, you have to exit each mini game and pick another one each time. It could have greatly improved from a mode that lets you play more games at once. For $30, I'm pretty happy. I was able to play with my wife and have a good time. If you're looking to play alone though, I might skip this one.

Interesting but almost Olympic level difficulty
- December 31, 2023[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Interesting selection of mini sports games, but the highly realistic game mechanics can be quite challenging. For example, with the discus and javelin throws, you need to adjust for speed, direction, pitch, power boost, etc. Gymnastics almost requires pro gamer level of hand eye coordination. Probably the most challenging to learn among all Mario titles, especially for preteens. Good multiplayer options.

I purchased game as fan of Japan Olympics 2020!
- January 4, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Enjoyable game upon opening. Similar to the arcade olympic Mario & Sonic game. As a fan of upcoming olympics, I would've bought it good or bad. Enjoyable playing with friends, another reason to buy. Max of 4 players per system is a bummer as we tend to play games with 5 people. Each character has their strengths, can't change. Story mode is ok but can be dull. Would've been cool to be able to adjust character skills based upon completion of story mode but that's not the creators goal. I'm not olympic champion for all events but again I purchased to play with others not against computer.

Mario and Sonic are at it yet again
- May 6, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mario and Sonic are at it yet again at another Olympic games, this time a delayed Summer Games due to a pandemic they hadn't anticipated. But that being said, this is just as good as the past entries in the series, with one new addition....2D MODE!!! If you wanted to play a version of Konami's Track and Field but with Mario and Sonic characters, then buy this game! It's a fun multiplayer, family friendly game (well you might get a little rivalry going, but it's all in good fun), still I recommend it for anyone looking for a solid, entertaining, multiplayer couch co-op experience.
