It hold the phone from falling to the ground but it doesnt hold it at any angle...gravity pulls it down! See image!

This is for people like me who don't think to mount their phone until after they start driving. Super easy to mount with 1 hand, without even looking at the mount. My only problem is that the car gets too hot in summer here in AZ (130+ in the car) so no matter what glue I tried to use, the ball always fell off after being parked for 4 hours. So glad the ball has a small screw in the bottom so I removed the stereo bezel and ran a small bolt from the back of the bezel so now the ball never falls off. Very happy with this mount.

I log over 25, 000 miles a year on the road for work and I have tried all kinds of solutions out there...The Steelie car mount system is by far the best one I found; It installs in minutes without a bunch of bulky parts that can break, it is super easy to use and see your phone from any angle, you have access to all your connections which is rare among these type of units. I thought the magnetic socket would add bulk but it really doesn't, in fact it adds a little spot for extra grip when you are holding the phone. I love mine so much I got another mount for my other car! Thanks for a truly innovative solution for securing a phone in the car.

I’ve had this on my phone for a year now. I’m constantly loosing my phone so the magnet is amazing. Especially while I’m on my construction sites. So this am I had to leave the job site and drive back to my office and then back to the job site. I had just made a phone call and put my phone on my truck to listen to music. I got back to site and found the phone in the exact same spot I had left it. I had driven 6 miles on bumpy backroads and it was still there!!! No lost phone! No broken phone!! Thank you so much for making a phenomenal product!! I recommend this to everyone.

I love the concept of this product. However, the phone socket piece was much smaller than I thought it would be. When I used it in my car it was strong enough to hold my phone to the ball mount, but it could not hold it up at all viewing angles. I have a Galaxy S7 with a relatively slim phone case, and I guess the weight of this phone is too heavy to be held up at any viewing angle. I would guess that this would be the case with many modern phones with larger screen sizes. I have since noticed there is a phone socket plus size for bigger phones, so I might try that socket to see if it holds my phone up better. I wish I had known about the larger phone socket option to start with.

I have bought 2 steelie dash mounts both of them were nothing but garbage i would mount it on my dash in my transport truck on a clean flat surface and it would stay there for 3 to 4 months then the 3m adhesive would give out and the steelie ball and cell would fall to the floor and i bought my second steelie to get the same results a waste of my money and ruined my dash

I'm a regional truck driver and i have tried every phone mount imaginable! Non of them worked that great and were cumbersome to get my phone in and out of. I was at a truckstop and saw this mount and thought i would give it a shot as it looked much more practical. Ive been using it for 3 months and i absolutely could not be happier or more impressed with it. The initial downside was having to cut a circular hole in my otterbox phone case to attach part of the mount to my phone but it hasnt caused any troubles in the function of the case or the mount. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in need of a quality, reliable, simple phone mount that works flawlessly! Wish i could give it 6 stars!

This super sleek design is great for a night out. But putting all of your credit cards along with your phone in one pocket immediately erases the magnetic strip on your cards. After having a few drinks it is very difficult to be mindful of keeping these items separate. I have had the sterile for 4 years now. I have had to replac everyone of my credit cards. Also, I have learned now that I can’t use the wireless mobile charger feature on my phone because of the magnet. I can’t understand why you can’t make the dash ball magnetic vs the silicone ball cup that sticks to the phone.

I bought this a few years ago and it worked fairly well. It was difficult to attach my Phone with one hand. Just recently though the gripping mechanism stopped working. I opened it up to find a tiny little molded plastic dowel had broken off. Now it won't grip.

I bought one when the company first started. Still have it! Been through 5 different vehicles and countless phones. Double sided tape and super glue… bought one of the newer ones for my wife and she loves it. Great product!!!
