Understanding the CECHE01 (Differences from CECHA01)
While both the CECHA01 and CECHE01 are the only North American models with 4 USB ports and PS2 support, there are a few key differences to note for the CECHE01:
Storage: This model features a larger 80GB hard drive compared to the 60GB found in the A01.
Emulation Method: While the A01 uses full internal hardware, the CECHE01 uses software-assisted emulation (using the Graphics Synthesizer chip) to play PS2 games. This provides excellent 1080p upscaling for the vast majority of popular PS2 titles.
Compatibility: Because it uses software for part of the processing, a very small number of PS2 titles may perform differently than they would on original hardware, though the core library of hits remains highly playable.
Every PlayStation 3 CECHE01 console is fully inspected, tested, and verified to meet original factory standards, with special attention paid to the internal cooling system, disc drive, and all 4 USB ports.
Good cosmetic condition: You may notice small scratches or light scuffs on the glossy "Piano Black" finish typical of vintage hardware — these are purely cosmetic and won’t affect performance.
