It all depends on which PlayStation 5 model you opt for, the all-digital or disc-based console. The PS5 all digital version does not have a disc drive, therefore, it cannot play disc-based content. The disc-based model allows you to play DVDs, Blu-rays, 4K Ultra HD Blu-rays and hardcopies of PlayStation 4 titles. The all-digital PS5 hardware will also play PS4 games but they must be digital versions.
