Surpassed my Expectations
- July 17, 2014[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm learning to play the guitar and am subscribed to a program that gives me feedback based on the notes and chords I play. My laptop's integrated microphone was not enough to record the sounds produced by the guitar and the program could not give me feedback. The reason I bought the Samson was because I needed a microphone, but didn't want to spend too much money on something that I wasn't going to be using on a professional level. Well this little fella' exceeded my expectations. It is way smaller than what I was expecting from looking at the box, but size didn't matter. The quality of recording and the ease of use #just plug and use# makes me give this guy an A+!

Holy cow, what a value
- December 17, 2012[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is small. Like, smaller than a business card small. As soon as I opened the box, I had trepidation about it, but figure I had it unpacked and might as well plug it in. Comes with a nice long 2-meter very flexible USB cable that wasn't so heavy that it pulled it off the desk like some stiff cables can. Plugged it in, tested normal speaking voice at different ranges, and this thing, I gotta say, is incredible for the size and price. (I'm not a singer, so YMMV in that regard, but I bought it for dubbing narrations over YouTube instructional videos.) Glad I bought this rather than the $100+ models. I'm going to keep it in the box so I don't misplace it, though.

Very good for an inexpensive mic.
- February 24, 2010[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this little mic to be a "HOSS" actually. Problems for ME, which might not be for someone else. I couldn't attach it even semi-permenantly for use. That made for a LOT of "handling"....unplugging, wrapping cords, moving, storing, bringing back and reattachment OFTEN. Personally, I don't think that is very good for a mic. After a while (several months) I began to hear "interfereance" when I would try to use it. In the beginning...there was NO hiss or noise of any type. I think possibly a new USB cord from the manufacturer might do the job well, but I have elected to go with a larger free-standing mic. For about sixty bucks....you can't go wrong! Just try to connect it and leave it connected when possible.

Excellent USB Mic
- August 29, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mic not only sounds great for the price but, the built in headphone jack that lets you monitor your voice works wonderfully. Im using it on Windows 10 without any issues. Also the install was plug and play. Surprisingly the Cakewalk Music Creator LE 5 software that came with it is actually useful, powerful and fun to use. I recorded my drumset for fun and was able to control reverb, compression, EQ and, because of the built in headphone jack I could easily monitor the recording without fumbling with any other connections or settings. Great purchase!

Good for practice and hobby
- July 27, 2013[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it's small, easy to use, and comes with great software. while it's a condenser mic, I wouldn't recommend it for drums. I had to put the mic in a separate room for my drums not to be too loud, and that lowers the sound definition and quality. the other thing is, if you are not familiar with track/layer recording software, prepare to be lost. the program it comes with is very complex and is somewhat difficult to figure out how to use all of its hundreds of features. however, overall, the Go Mic has an outstanding price tag, records voice and other things like guitar excellently, and is just plain cool to have. if you write music, it's perfect for just practicing and playing around with and came in very handy for what I wanted to use it for, even though my drums were too loud for it.

very nice entry level mic for chatting
- February 5, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plug and play. It was recognized by my Windows 7 (64 bit) with no problems and everything worked as it should. I will be using this for internet chatting so I wasn't expecting audiophile quality. An issue I ran across was the unit being muted if I clicked in the speaker box icon. Clicking again unmuted the mic. Path was Start/Control Panel/Sound/Recording/Samson/Properties/Level. You will see a slider for the volume and if you accidentally click on the small speaker icon box, it will mute the mic.

Small, sleek, versatile - perfect!
- September 4, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love, love this mic because it is so small and versatile (can clip to your laptop or placed on table situated on its' own built-in stand). I use the free Audacity software and the mic works like a charm. It truly is plug and play - no need to download drivers. It picks up quite well, even if someone is standing 20-30 feet away. In Audacity, you are able to adjust the gain and actually hear what is being picked up on the mic by plugging headphones directly into the mic. I also like the fact that this mic has cardioid and omni-directional (360) patterns. I use it to record meetings, music events and lectures. Everyone always asks me where I got my mic and expressed how they wanted one too. Bottom line: it picks up sounds quite well, small, various recording patterns, it's plug and play and does it job well!

Great little microphone and software for home use
- July 14, 2013[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this microphone to record my classical guitar music for my own instruction to hear my progress and record another musician's duet part so I can practice playing with them without them being there. It does pick up some humming when attached to my laptop which could be a fan I'm running or something else so that does mar the sound quality of what I pick up. However, for what I'm doing, this is not a problem. If you are recording for demos or something more professional, you might need to add a filter of some kind to remove the hum if you experience it. It could just be my laptop having an issue. The software has a lot of modes to play. The tutorial is needed to get you off the ground but it has a lot of options to record several tracks as needed. It was just what I was looking for and a pretty good price also.

Best bang for your buck
- December 23, 2012[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, I just picked up the Samson Go Mic as a new recording mic. Just doing the very few tests I have, the sound is FAR superior to the mic in this Logitech h540 headset I use for audio playback. For podcasters or people doing voice overs on video on a budget, this thing is great. It doesn't pick up the lows perfectly, like more expensive condenser microphones will, but the sound with it sitting roughly 12 or so inches from me and talking in a normal speaking voice is clear. And it's only $40. I haven't even had to use Audacity's noise reduction feature in my tests. And the Logitech headset mic as well as my Logitech HD camera mic picked up a ton more noise in my recording area, which isn't soundproofed. I cannot comment on the software, as I do not have it installed. I use a Mac and use Audacity to record audio.

Very handy, convenient and effective
- May 31, 2012[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for an easy to use microphone for doing voiceovers when editing video in Avid Studio. This device is small, portable so you can use it on any computer wherever you go, and the sound quality is more than I could have expected. I normally keep this plugged into my desktop (editing station); it is clamped to a lamp bracket at speaking distance. Whenever I need it I just activate whatever recording program I am using and record professional quality audio.
