What customers are saying

The Seagate 1TB storage expansion card provides a substantial increase in storage capacity for the Xbox Series X|S, allowing users to download and store more games. It is easy to set up and delivers the same fast load times and performance as the internal SSD. While considered a bit pricey, most users agree it is a worthwhile investment, especially for Xbox Series S owners with limited internal storage. The ability to easily transfer games between the internal drive and expansion card further enhances the convenience.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 12, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great buy to expand your Xbox series x/s storage memory up to 2TB, it works seamlessly with your Xbox instant start games/apps ect off the expansion card itself, no need to download to console , also keeps your consoles memory free to perform and optimal performance !

    “Pricey but pays off”

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 8, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A must have no matter the price. This is really the only storage place that has the same speed as the internal hard drive on the Xbox Series X/S. If you would like to play next gen games, you need this. Without this, you won’t be able to play next gen games unless you install them on the internal drive which fills up fast with how much space you are ACTUALLY given on the Xbox Series X/S and how much space the new games take up. Pricey but pays off!

    MUST HAVE/INSANELY FAST

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 4, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] MUST HAVE. Unfortunately it is a small chunk of change but with today’s file sizes and everything you honestly kind of need it. I’m loving it though. Really small, nice form factor, etc. Has roughly 920ish gbs of usable storage. Since it is a proprietary form of storage though I can still use the quick resume feature on all my games I have downloaded to the card and everything still loads insanely fast!

    Awesome

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - July 8, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you aren’t sure on which size ssd card to buy, the 1tb option is a great middle ground for the price and size. Easy installation process as well.

    The little Storage that Could

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 7, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Expansion card is a must have for any gamer looking to expand thier library of installed games. With it's lighting fast transfer speed and the abllity to play games straight from the card that matches the OEM drive is impressive. Even so that it sometimes has even faster load times. The only thing holding consumers back from enjoying a much needed expansion card is the price. I do wish it was more affordable, especially the 2tb model. Which is what I really wanted to have. Installing is super easy, plug it in the Xbox detects the drive and your good to go. You can play any game from this drive. All in all I highly recommend you pick this up. With all the fantastic games Aval on Xbox Gamepass this is Top tire to never worry about finding your next Favorite game.

    Little Extra Storage

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 30, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After getting the Xbox Series S last year, the standard 512 GB won’t be enough if you’re a gamer that plays 2 or more games. This EXTRA SMALL external drive will do the trick. This expansion comes in 3 different storage size and they can get pricy the higher the memory space. But worth it if you’re going to be playing multiple games or subscribed to Xbox Game Pass. Storing files especially games won’t slow down performance. Lag time won’t be a problem. Only con for this product is the price.

Check the build quality before throwing out thebox

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - November 10, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super excited to get this drive, however I am concerned with the build quality. When I got it I slid it out of the protective plastic sheath to feel and hear an audible click (loud enough the customer service rep from Seagate could hear it over the phone). The plastic grip moves about a mm or two when pushed or pulled (like when you put it in the expansion port or pull it out). I noticed a slight opening on the side of the plastic grip and can see this white material inside on one end. In addition the 1TB logo on the plastic piece is raised and bumpy in areas making me think this unit was not built properly (look at the perimeter of the edge to see the difference in height of the 1TB sticker). I called Seagate and they said to return it. For the price this kind of build quality is unacceptable, be careful.

Wait for prices to come down

    Reviewed by Jon - September 25, 2020

This is really expensive for what it is, but if you really don't want to take the 15min's required to move games to and from the internal SSD to a standard external USB drive then by all means buy it now. In my experience gaming generally comes in waves, and at any given time I might have 5 games I touch, once one gets finished or done with for awhile I move it to USB storage, and move something else onto the SSD. I can't think of too many reasons I need 20 games available to play right now at a moments notice, but everyone's different.
