A popular game for a reason. Just complex enough to make it interesting, without being overly complex or lengthy. I'd say it is like a cross between Ticket To Ride and Risk. Most kids over 10 will be able to understand the game and play fairly quickly. Average game time is an hour, give or take depending on the number of players.

This one was one of the first that we bought on recommendation and it's been great. Very fun that we bought the expansion to play more than 4 people. Learning curve is not bad and many others play so chance to play with others is pretty good. It's a staple like monopoly to add to the game bookshelf.

I think it's the most fun with 4 players, but if you have more people and don't have the expansion you can have teams of two. There is a slight learning curve, but once you play it a couple of times you get the hang of it. The game I received was well made and I had no issues with it or any of the pieces.

We decided on a game night and he choose Catan. We had a blast playing. Just recently I had a game night at my house and had different people playing. It’s appropriate for different ages and everyone has fun. Just recently bought the 5-6 player expansion.

With 5 of us in the family we had to go out and get the expansion pack so all of us could play. Definitely a keeper that will be in the family game rotation. We would love to share with our friends as well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent game that allows anyone to win any game regardless of how the game may start. Most board games don't allow for a different experience each and every game. Huge strategy boost with the differing game layout each game. My lone disappointment is that I wasn't introduced to this game years ago.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Catan is a great game. We played it for Thanksgiving and had an awesome time. I recommend learning how to play it by installing the Catan app on your phone as indicated in the game rules. We followed the instructions from the app step by step and were ready to go. Have fun!

Received this as a gift five years ago, but never got into it. Pulled it out again early in March COVID lockdown, and have played it almost daily ever since with my wife and 17 year old! I had to buy a second game for the office! We love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After this game, Monopoly feels boring and based only on luck. Great strategy game, especially when combined with the Seafarers expansion. Awesome purchase for cold seasons - gather with friends at cozy place and have fun! :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very fun strategy game. We play with our 7 year old boy, and he can understand the game after playing one time. It is a very fun game for the cold winter. We plan to get the extension for the next winter.
