The advanced optical design includes three FLD elements and four SLD elements that minimize chromatic aberrations and color fringing, ensuring vibrant, accurate colors. Four aspherical elements, including a large 80mm-diameter precision-molded glass element, help reduce distortion and spherical aberrations, resulting in exceptional sharpness and minimal distortion across the frame. A Super Multi-Layer Coating is applied to the lens elements to suppress flare and ghosting, improving contrast and producing clearer images in difficult lighting situations. Designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs, this lens also performs well on APS-C models, where it offers an effective focal length of 22.4mm.
