What customers are saying

The lens offers excellent image quality, fast and accurate autofocus, and impressive reach. It is praised for its sharpness, even at the maximum focal length, making it suitable for wildlife and sports photography. However, the lens is quite heavy, requiring the use of a tripod or monopod for best results, especially for handheld shooting. Some users also mention the lack of a lens cap as a minor inconvenience. Overall, the lens provides professional-level performance at an affordable price point.

    Great Lens for Stunning Images

    Reviewed by - December 22, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the market for a medium/long-distance lens for nature/wildlife/sports photography before discovering this model. After some practice with the settings and gearing it for my camera body (Canon M50), it's a question as to why I waited so long to make the purchase! This is now my go-to lens in my arsenal and will be for years to come!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Matched with Nikon D5600. The pictures talk by themselves. Can imagine when I get the Nikon D850 for great results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lens is AWESOME! The only thing is that it is heavy but you can purchase a strap or harness.

    Great Lens. Action photos

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - November 27, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I bought this back in June. I take a lot of photos of my kids during their track meets and I wanted to get something that would allow me to get further range before the Junior olympics at Texas A&M. I would say that I was really pleased. I would definitely recommend getting a tripod or monopod to support with stabilization. I am still learning how use the lens but so far so good. Very pleased. I even got a picture of a dragonfly in motion. I used this with a Canon Rebel T7i.

IT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 3, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] (Review wouldn’t let me use full resolution photos) I love this lens, I’ve gotten some shots I’m really proud of with it. I think this lens is the best bang for the buck, I have a Nikon d750 and I didn’t want to pay the extra money for Nikon 100-500 which yes having 5.6 at 500mm would be nice but often I’m not missing it. Plus the extra 100mm is really nice when you’re trying to learn how to get closer to your subject and you just want those nice up close shots. Is it perfect all the time? No it could focus faster for sure sometimes hunts but even the best lenses and best autofocus you have to shoot right to capture and focus really quickly. I definitely recommend this lens to people when they are trying to get into wildlife photography. If you have crop sensor and want lighter you could look at sigmas 100-400 my dad has that on a z50 and loves it Pros: -gets you closer to subject for a good value -feels pretty durable(even though I baby it) -you can get protective cushion skins and rain covers for it -you can get some really sharp photos -again great price comparatively -has image stabilization -comes with a nice tripod foot, smooth for rotating on tripod from portrait to horizontal Cons: -it’s pretty heavy but not crazy, if you’re going to be waiting for a subject in the bushes like I do sometimes I definitely suggest a tripod and a gimbal head. -probably won’t fit in most beginners camera bags but that’s to be expected

    Great lens but slow

    Reviewed by - February 14, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this lens for my 7D Mark II in the summer of 2015 to photograph birds. The lens really brings the birds close, and there is no distortion at the corners even when shooting at 600 mm. My only gripe is that at f-5, it is awfully slow. While the advertisement claims that it shoots well in shade, that is not quite true. Unless you are shooting a still object at a slow speed, your picture will be slightly blurry. Unfortunately, birds do not tend to be still. I try to fix some of the blur on the computer, but I have limited success. Overall, I do like the lens, however, and, since I cannot afford the $11,000 lens my friend bought, this $1,650 one will have to do--for now.

    This lems is awesome!

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 2, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve picked up bird watching as a hobby and wanted to take some picures woth my Canon 6Dm2 and 300mm lens. Soon realized 300mm would not be enough to get good details and the search for a 600mm lens began. I came across this sigma one and acter watching so many youtube videos conparing the Contemporary and Sport variants i ordered both (C new from BestBjuy and S used from mpb). Holdong both, its obviois the S is not intended for handheld photography. Image quality between the two lenses is so close you can’t tell the difference. Now the C is on sale too, and BestBuy price matched. Overall this lens is worth it especially if you want to photograph wildlife and birds, as well as sporting events. .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this lens! I would classify myself as a intermediate photographer. To me the stability lens is awesome this lens will not disappoint. All photo's barehand held. Moon shot 600mm, city shots 150mm.

    Works great with my mirrorless

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - September 27, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great pix with my Sony a7ii mirrorless camera. Works like I wanted and expected. Will work in auto mode but, I prefer manual. This really fits my needs of bird watching shots.
