Easy way to add Sonos to your existing set up
- September 6, 2022[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Port to add Sonos to my existing set up. It took less than five minutes to add this to my existing amp and speakers and be streaming Sonos music throughout the house. Plug the included RCA patch cord into the OUT connections on the Port and plug them into the Line IN connection on your amp, Plug the AC plug in and let it boot up. Add the app to you phone. Done. I also added Sonos speakers in other rooms of the house that did not have speakers. I already had Sonos at our other home and the app knows which home I'm at (based on the wifi network) and only shows the Sonos components for where I'm at. Volume through the amp is quite a bit lower than my old bluetooth receiver, but this can be fixed in the app settings. Pricey, but a simple and effective way to add Sonos to your existing system.

Curiously Addictive
- January 16, 2026[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To hear high-quality, lossless audio stream into your home through your large, passive speakers is a curiously addictive experience. It's easy to set up, so we got started in mere minutes. We use it every day! 5/5 - a great addition to our home!

Excellent device to use legacy equipment
- December 17, 2023[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent media player. I connect my turntable and CD player to the Port. Play connected equipment to my Sonos system. Arc, sub and two ERA 300 on Sanus speaker stands. The sound is awesome. How did I connect two devices to the Port? I used two "Y" cables. Two female RCA to one male RCA cable. I purchased one RED marked and one White marked. I purchased high end cables and not those cheap ones. I crossed the cables as I wanted stereo and not mono. That is important step. It's a pricey Sonos player but well worth it if you want clear sound production and want to play your legacy turnable, CD player, AV receiver Etc to the Sonos sound system. See photo of the Y cables needed to connect two devices to the Port.

Amazing neywork DAC
- March 17, 2024I use it only via wired Ethernet (the Wi-Fi is switched off at home). LAN connection to the streamer is essential for my stable and high-quality connection (without continuously showering myself in electromagnetic microwaves). I added a radio station stream link to the Sonos app TuneIn service and then streamed it via a line-in to the old analog Tivoli Audio One. In this situation, I merged the most advanced Sonos DAC with my ancient but very beloved analog radio in a wired way. I love that! Sonos Port opens endless possibilities to connect retro hardware to the high-end Sonos ecosystem. Now, I am looking to connect the even older radios to it.

Very good quality sound and separation
- November 8, 2020I was an early adopter of Sonos in 2010. Playing throughout the house in multiple rooms, each playing different music when required, and reliably has been the hallmark of all of the products. Making sure the wi fi reached all parts of a big house will always be a challenge but good repeaters can now solve that issue. Most impressive product has been the S5 and Port, with multiple Play Ones close behind. Least impressive is the Sound Bar which is only so-so and even with Play Ones acting as rear/surround has been disappointing. There is still no substitute for a proper AV amp and quality Front, Centre and Surround speakers: Kef and Quad in my case.

Finally found turntable set up for Sonos speakers
- August 26, 2023[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took forever to decide on a set up to play albums in my kitchen. I finally settled on connecting a sonos port to my old reciever (which is connected to my turntable). Now I can connect any Sonos speakers throughout the house to my turntable. I went with the Sonos 5 speakers and a Sonos subwoofer for the large open space covering my living room/dining room/kitchen. I am very happy with the result. I also bought a Sonos Era 100 speaker that I use in my bedroom. For the money, if you have a smaller space I think the Era 100 works just fine.
