It's simple to record, however in order to replay and transfer you need to take time to read the owners' manual. Has microsd and headphn jack and transferring jack and usb port.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit is much better and easier to use than a similar unit I purchased from another store several years ago. Pros: The view screen is easy to read. The controls are intuitive, press record and it records, you don't have to select record mode, location, and format for every time you make a recording. You set them once and you're done. It has a built in USB connector so you can save your files easily. Cons: Could use a more sensitive built in microphone. The On/Off Switch takes a firm press to power On / Off. I have to use a finger nail to do it. Compared to my previous recorder this unit is great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Records well. Needed some recordings off of radio and videos. Play, pause and hold buttons are self explanatory, Never used a digital recorder before, so was not sure how to transfer to a computer file. There is a USB that slides out from the recorder for direct input to the computer USB port. Once inserted, shows up as IC recorder. After clicking on that, there were several choices (?). I picked REC and once clicked on, the folder with the recording is there for download. Maybe all self explanatory to someone versed in this, but I really am not knowledgeable with computers. That is why an 'average ' for ease of use. It may be 'good or excellent' if you already know how to use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great recorder for beginners ! Had to retire my old audio cassette recorder, for my notes taking . My old cassette recorder, died, after 20 years of wonderful service. Its was a Sony. Then I was strongly advised to try this digital recorder, and it's just marvelous ! You CAN"T GO WRONG WITH SONY PRODUCTS ! I just LOVE this recorder ! The only problem I have with it, I still have great difficulty, transferring my digital recordings, to another media. Hopefully, someone will be able to help me. There is still something I must be missing, when I follow the instructions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the PX series and wrote a glowing review of that one. I bought this as a backup, just in case. As I stated in the other review, I write guidebooks for Mexico and take notes on my recorder during long car trips. This recorder is simpler than the Sony-PX, and the recording quality is very good, but not quite on par with the PX. But it is half the money and for what you are paying, it is a good value. If your recording is done at quiet environments, and you don't need much noise cancellation, this will probably work for you. If the environment is noisy, like in a car, you'd do better to buy the PX. If you get this instead of the PX, you might find the Panasonic mic a welcome addition.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good recorder, except, it's hard to "mark" points within the recording to easily go back and listen at that spot, rather than listening to the whole recording. Also, slightly cumbersome to rename recordings. BUT great quality recordings and quick to start, which is very helpful. Battery has lasted long, as well.
