Best travel size camera with pro features

    Reviewed by - February 22, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Switched from Canon DSLR to Sony mirrorless and am loving it. Should have known long time back. Anyway I would definitely recommend hobbyist or pro photographers. It's amazing size makes easier to carry around and shoot but my only concern is the battery life. It just drains out quickly and I would suggest an extra batteries. Hope Sony improves the battery life or supply more than 2 batteries. It would definitely help. Thank you Sony for making such a wonderful camera.

    Good camera battery

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 30, 2014

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OK, but it needs a longer charge life. I will get another one for two extra spares sense I take a lot of pictures.

    Works well, pretty lightweight

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - July 15, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the original Sony battery because of the feature that it shows the actual power level in percentage in the camera display (I am not sure if all Sony models support that, but mine does.). Another reason for the Sony brand original battery was that I have pretty mixed experiences with other brand replacement batteries, and often their life expectancy wasn't convincing. But that might be a personal, subjective experience. So far, my Sony FW50 batteries are consistent in load capacity and work well. I can't make any statements about the battery's life expectancy because I have it for only 2 months so far. It's weight is 42 grams (ca. 1.5 ounces).

    Battery Life NEX cameras

    Reviewed by - September 19, 2012

I have a NEX 5K for a year now. Purchased an extra battery soon after getting the camera. Just returned from 3 week in Africa and prior to leaving purchased another battery. This gave me 2 while on game drives and one back in camp charging. Most of the time, the battery lasted for 8 hours of of the 2 game drives. Only twice did I have to swap batteries during a game drive. No power at night to charge the batteries. Most of my photography is stills not movies. No matter what camera you own, digital photography uses battery power. One should have no less than 2 batteries to insure you have power during your days picture taking.

    Nice if price matched

    Reviewed by - November 25, 2012

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The newer Sony cameras go through battery charges pretty quickly so having a second (or third) battery pack is almost a necessity. I have done over the rated 500 shots per charge but that was without using the flash and LCD screen very much. If you're smart about using your camera you can keep battery drain to a minimum and make the charge last quite a while. If you shoot video, the battery does get hot but cools quickly per Sony's support/manual/online service. Don't buy the aftermarket batteries. they may be cheaper but they don't last as long and have a tendency to give out or die much quicker. The Sony battery has lasted over 2 years with no degradation.

Genuine Sony OEM Battery, what more can you say.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 7, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are expensive. Buying at full MSRP, I am not sure, however on discount or if they come with your other purchase as a bonus, these are as sweet as they can be. No worries on them exploding inside your camera while operating or charging, and as advertised mAH and shots you can expect out of a charge. These can barely last 300~400 shots in most sony cameras which is actually quite pitiful, but that is not the battery's fault. Sony's camera in combination with the EVF, LCD, and all the other electrical internals consume huge amount of power out of these. I would recommend only if the price is right.

Battery DOA from store curbside pickup.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 12, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wish I could give "0" star. Purchased this item and it was delivered via curbside service at store today. When I got home that same day and installed it to check if my camera worked, the battery was DEAD ON ARRIVAL! Camera displayed a message, "BATTERY EXHAUSTED." I tried to charge the battery but the orange light kept flashing fast like the troubleshooting steps in the manual. I have a Sony ILCE-3000 and now I have a brand new dead battery that I waited for several days to be delivered and I cannot use it at all. Will be returning to the store tomorrow. Very Disappointing.
