I had this mat for 6 months now and its been great. the design is smart (air gets pulled in from the SIDES not the bottom) however the fans on mine died after a month of use. (the bearings failed). I didn't feel like buying another mat so I "altered" it by fitting a 120mm case fan (a Scythe S flex G) to replace the 2 small stock fans. it still cools the same but the case fan has better bearings so it will last longer. I would say the design is great but seriously I only got 1 month of use with the stock fans. I know a few people who have the same mat and their fans lasted around 4 months. i am not saying this mat is bad but some high quality fans will make this an excellent mat.

My laptop was coughing up it's own blood before getting this item. It was overheating which resulted in slow performance and periodic low FPS (frames per second) on some games (especially online games). I've been using this for about a week and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It is a great design to allow air to come in from the sides and blow cool air up into the underside of the laptop's fans underneath. Highly recommended if you're experiencing the same thing.

Still have same product for last 6 years. Still working well and runs quietly. From constantly picking up, both sides have cracked so bought new model. This has an upgrade in that the usb cord has a snap in storage compartment on both sides of the unit so the cord doesn't hang and can be easily stored. Highly recommend and is good value for the price.

I am on my second AWE55US chill mat. The mat is very ergonomic, light, and transportable. Unfortunately, both have failed in the exact same way in exactly the same spot. The top and bottom plastic surfaces developed a stress crack at the edges around the midway point. I would like to suggest a design improvement: Put a post between the top and bottom plates on each side to add additional support. That will prevent the plastic from flexing when the chill mat is picked up to carry it with the laptop on it. This small improvement will go a long way in making the product last longer. This will also take Chill Mat from 2 stars to 5 (or 10 if that was an option),

I've been using this laptop cooler for 6 months now, and it is still working perfectly for me. It fits my 15" widescreen laptop just right; the fans are very quiet, but are definitely strong enough to keep my laptop cool (and I keep it on for at least 8 hours every day). I love the slanted surface - working on the couch couldn't be any more comfortable! I do have to say that the rubber grips don't exactly keep my laptop from slipping though. Also, the positioning of the USB cord makes it easy to get caught. Those are my only 2 suggestions for improvements. Otherwise, a very great product for everyday use!

It's dual fans keep your chipsets from being damaged and maintaining a the speed of your processor. It is very comfortable on your lap or great on my desk. I would definitely recommend it.

I didn't think I'd actually need it too much but recently my husband's computer just completely blacked out and stopped working out of nowhere and he was freaking out trying to figure out what was wrong with it. And I suggested he put it on the cooling mat cuz he was working outside so I thought maybe it had gotten too hot. So he brought it inside and used the cooling mat and he said within a few minutes his laptop had cooled down to the point it was working again and he was very relieved to not have to go out and replace something so expensive.

I bought this at the store last summer and it worked good but recently just stopped working. I didn't pay much for it so I'm not out a lot but if you're looking for something that will last a while, keep looking. By the way, it was $20 when I bought it.

I bought one of these when I got my Toshiba back in 2010 and it worked wonderfully. It kept my lap cool, as I use my laptop either on my lap or bed, and it kept dust out of my laptop vent. The only con is with the design. All of my laptop vents have been on the left side while the fan used to blow cool air on my laptop was on the right. It did a bit to help with cooling but not as much as I would like. I would definitely buy another one, as after 3.5 years it still is a great accessory. The fan hasn't worked in about a year but again, it never really did much of a difference anyway.

Poorly designed, lacks structural rigidity, the bottom panel has developed 2 big cracks on either side in less than 2 months of use with a 17" laptop
