Garbage! Waste of money and time!
- September 7, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These things made my internet speed run at about 10% of the speed of my WIFI. And less than 4% of my hardwired internet speed. I was hoping these would at least improve on the 5Ghz WiFi speeds but no such luck. They actually killed my speed completely (see screenshots of speed tests). I’m a fan of TP-LINK products and have several of their smart switches and plugs in my home. These however are absolute garbage and do not deliver on their promise. The only positive I can say is that they were a breeze to set up and connect. However, given the end result, I wish I had saved myself the time and effort.

Don’t buy
- December 9, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If I could put no stars I would I was looking for this because at night time when my family is home everyone is using all their different devices and the internet gets slowed because of that which is normal and I play video games so I would lag a lot so I bought this thinking it would help and my family is not home at the time of testing but I normally when they are not on their devices get 80-120 mbps and I tested today without the tp link on a wireless network far from my router got 83.2 mbps then I plugged the tp link into the router and into my PlayStation and with the wired network I got 25.8 mbps

AMAZING!!!
- April 14, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow this thing is AMAZING! Very simple to set up & use -- the speed of my wifi went from 0.4 mbps to 19.9 mbps. Great for those working from home! They basically turn any electrical outlet into an ethernet port (never knew that was possible). Downside is you are plugged into ethernet, but positive is that the connection is stable 100% of the time vs wifi which is hit or miss.

Works but not as promised
- August 28, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this plugged into the most optimal position it can be in. Its on the same breaker as the other plug and router and pretty close to the router (just needed a direct connect to the room on the otherside of wall of the router without snaking an ethernet all the way around). Im also using CAT6 cables not the CAT5 that came with it. So this says it can get a gig down, no it can't. I have this is the best environment it can get and it tops out at 250 mbps. Really the only upside is that I have a more stable connection than the wifi adapter.

Great solution for home wireless issues
- November 20, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a couple of sets of these power line Ethernet adapters to help provide consistent network connectivity for the family while we are working from home and doing remote learning for my high school and college age kids. The ability to use these over the existing electrical lines has been great and they are easy to setup and configure. More consistent connectivity than from the single wireless router that we were using. Make sure that you get USB or USB-C Ethernet adapters and ethernet patch cables if you are using these on laptops.

Rogers Xfinity TV problem fixed
- June 26, 2025I was having major problems with Rogers Xfinity TV. This is relevant since Xfinity uses standard Ethernet technology, normally using a wireless connection. I live in a retirement residence which is converting all the residents to use Xfinity. Even though my TV is only about 30 feet from the modem, it experienced frequent dropouts and loss of signal. The problem appeared to be interference to my Xfinity connection from the large number of other wireless signals. The Rogers tech installed one of these, and bingo! no more problems!

Great when WiFi isn't
- January 2, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These work very well for when you can't run cables and WiFi is just not a good option. My office is on the far end of the house from the location of the wireless router and just on the outside edge of range. My ping latency to the router was 5-9 ms on wireless and very inconsistent. It dropped to a consistent sub 1 ms when I switched to the powerline bridges. If the house weren't a rental and I had more options to run Ethernet cable, I'd go that route but given that that's not an option right now, these do the trick.

Great for Large Homes
- March 5, 2022We used to have complaints on most days from our tenants in our basement about WiFi issues. Our house is big and has thick walls in a lot of places, so this was understandable, but we weren't sure how to fix the wireless problems, as we had moved in recently and the previous owners of our home didn't have Ethernet installed. We were figuring out if getting Ethernet installed would be worth the cost and time, and we learned about powerline adapters. Two months or so after buying a pair of these, they've worked like a charm. We've even managed to connect the adapter in the basement to a router we bought 2 years ago that was sitting around in a drawer, so the whole floor now has much better WiFi access in addition to wireless access. Would certainly recommend to anyone who is having WiFi trouble on certain floors.

Honestly Amazimg
- July 21, 2024Bought this to get interwebs in my detached garage. Was sick of hotspotting on my phone, and didn't want to run a cat5 cable to the garage. Popped one of these in the house, hooked it up to the router, and put the other in the garage. Bought a cheap TP Link extender that had an access point mode and plugged the garage unit into that, and I have wifi capable of streaming 4k now! Very pleased with it's stability and performance. Couldn't be easier to use and setup.
