[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] External hard drive was easy to install. It took a while to get the down loadable apps to get loaded and installed. As a sidebar the package was delivered in a card board box, no damage but the box in the box was messed up torn and re- taped I was afraid that it was damaged but it was ok.

I got this in February and used it to store video files. After 3 months my computer suddenly wasn't able to recognize it when plugged in, and no matter what I did to troubleshoot I wasn't able to get it working. Research online seems to show that WD drives sometimes just do that and it's a manufacturing problem. I have no motivation to wait through their awful customer service system to get a replacement that might just break again. It really sucks since I had some recordings on that drive I can't get back now. Might be fine to use if you have the warranty through Best Buy but don't store anything on this that you care about and can't get back.

This is the third WD Passport I have purchased. The first two worked fine but became glitchy and the files became corrupted so I promised never to get one again. I was in a bind and this was the only T2 drive available at my local Best Buy. I spent hours transferring work files. It seemed to operate fine during this process and the day after. It sat in my desk drawer for month until I needed files again. I just plugged it in and nothing. I shut my computer down, unplugged it, rebooted it and plugged it in - the process I always use - and nothing still. It has stopped working altogether. Nothing. No Drive appears even appears in my files now Garbage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this drive a couple of months ago to transfer my data from my old PC laptop to my new one. It was a good decision. WD drives are affordable, reliable, and easy to use. This one was just plug and play and didn’t require any formatting to be compatible with my device. The newer solid state drives might be a little faster in terms of loading your data, but this one hasn’t given me any trouble. And it’s a little more affordable than an SSD.

Holds amazing amount of pictures that I haven’t even scratched the amount and cleared off laptop and phone full of years of pictures. The pictures are the blue one but the black one is great too.
