Western Electric KS13385 Hookup Wire is manufactured by Western Electric in the U.S.A The ever-popular Western Electric KS13385 Hookup Wire features a lacquered cotton braid jacket with PVC insulation. Construction of the wire and cable is in accordance with Underwriters' Laboratories Appliance Wiring Material (AWM) Style 1491. KS13385 hookup wire is especially popular with audiophiles in Japan and across Europe. This durable, no-nonsense hookup wire was developed by Western Electric in the early 20th century for use in AT&T’s central telephone offices, where untold miles of connections kept America’s universal telephone service running smoothly. Today, enjoy the same high standard of quality for DIY projects like loudspeaker hookups.

* Conductors - Stranded, tin-coated copper conforming to ASTM B-33 and B174 or B-173.

* Insulation - 85°C rated Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) conforming to Underwriters' Laboratories AWM Style 1491 and CSA C22.2 No.210.2 requirements.

* Covering - All sizes: lacquered cotton braid conforming to UL requirements is applied over the insulation. The colors shall be as specified on the order.

* Type - UL Listed AWM Style 1491 90°C, 600 volts VW-1, 35A. CSA listed AWM I A/B 90°C, 300 volts FT-1. RoHS Compliant and Lead-Free.
