The Nintendo Switch family of systems, something for everyone

There are three ways you can enjoy playing Nintendo Switch games, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED model and the Nintendo Switch Lite. If you enjoy the ability to play your games on the go and also on your TV at home, the Nintendo Switch is designed just for you.

However, if you game on the go and aren’t worried about playing Switch games on your TV then the Nintendo Switch Lite is a perfect choice. Here’s a brief look of what each console in the Nintendo Switch family offers and who it is geared for.

Nintendo Switch: for the gamer who plays at home on the TV and on the go

The Nintendo Switch features a built-in 6.2” display, and innovative Joy-Con controllers that attach to the sides, allowing you to use the Switch in handheld mode for gaming on the go. At home, you can detach the Nintendo Switch wireless controllers, connect the console to a TV via HDMI, and play games that way too.

Nintendo Switch OLED model: for the gamer that demands the premium Nintendo experience at home and on the go

The Nintendo Switch OLED model does everything a Nintendo Switch can but better! It comes with a built-in 7” OLED display. This means not only do you get a bigger display but you get more vibrant and vivid colours. In addition, the OLED display offers a crisp contrast when compared to the LCD display in the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.

Additionally, the Nintendo Switch OLED model features twice the amount of internal storage for games, 64GB, and enhanced audio for both handheld and tabletop play. Keeping inline with the premium Nintendo experience, the Nintendo Switch OLED model comes with a new dock that has a wired ethernet port for greater internet stability and speed.

Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch OLED is equipped with a wide adjustable stand. This allows for more stability in tabletop mode.

Nintendo Switch Lite for the gamer on the go

The Nintendo Switch Lite features a built-in 5.5” display. Not only is the system light and compact, but also has an increased battery life of between 20-30% when compared to the Nintendo Switch. To accommodate the gamer on the go, the controllers have been integrated into the Nintendo Switch Lite’s body and can’t be removed.

It is important to note that the Nintendo Switch Lite only plays games that support handheld mode. Make sure to check the back of the box or product page of a game before purchasing it to make sure it supports handheld mode.

Multiplayer gaming on the Switch

Both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite allow you to play with your friends in different ways. Either via local wireless play or by pairing additional Joy-Con controllers, there is no limit to the amount of fun you will have with friends. And, you can face off with friends across the world or team up for co-op action with Nintendo Switch Online. Nintendo Switch Online also offers a vast library of classic games, lets you save game data to the cloud, and you can even chat with friends while you play through the compatible smartphone app.
