Frequently turning off and on
- September 23, 2019Unfortunately,I was generally happy with it. The major issue I have been having is with the monitor turning off for about 1 second for no reason, and then coming back on. This comes and goes. I tried updating drivers, changing cables, switching from HDMI to DVI and nothing worked. I hooked up a second monitor and it has behaved OK while the BENQ monitor flipped off and on. I will now have to see how Best Buy deals with my problem (unfortunately been longer than their stated number of days return policy). I thought the problem was on my side but just recently convinced myself this monitor must be defective.

Excellent
- November 25, 2019[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have using BenQ as my PC monitor for years (the major reason is that BenQ is the only brand emphasis in low blue-light). Purchased this one for my new computer. Pro: - Deliver as expected. (Even though my new computer arrived much earlier, but this deliver date was as shown during ordered.) - Plug-in then start working (auto detected HDMI) (My previous one need to manually adjust to HDMI) Con: - Its Speaker is terrible. (The speaker is working but the sound is not good, recommend to have a separated PC speaker.) Just want to balance this product's previous(one star) review since this BenQ monitor is working fine with me for over one month and my previous BenQ is working for pasted three years.

Crisp, Bright, 3 types of Inputs, Excellent Value
- July 2, 2020Not only is the image quality excellent -- crisp and bright with text and images. Good colour and contrast. Wide viewing angles with the IPS panel. The Brightness Intelligence (BI) feature is over-rated IMO. While it keeps the screen bright enough to see in a bright sunny room, I find it keeps the monitor too bright when the ambient lighting in the room is dim. As a result, the monitor is too bright to use with BI at night time unless you also use something like f.lux to automatically make the colour temperature warm (reduces blue light) and lowers the brightness when the sun sets. I am not taking a star off for the underwhelming BI feature since most monitors don't have auto brightness adjust, and if they do, they don't do a very good job of it either, especially in this price range. For example, the Samsung PLS monitor in this price range can be set to auto adjust brightness too, but it errs on the side of being too dim. I would just adjust the brightness manually or use BI with f.lux and the monitor otherwise looks great. An important feature of this monitor is that is accepts 3 types of inputs: HDMI, VGA D-Sub, and DisplayPort. Not all monitors in this price range accept 3 types of inputs. In fact, most of them only accept 2 (usually HDMI and VGA D-sub). The stand is typical of the price range -- tilts up and down, but height is not adjustable. Again, not taking a star off because you usually need to go into a higher price bracket to get adjustable height. Thankfully, you just plug in the monitor directly to the AC outlet with a standard 3 prong computer power cord. No AC adapter. Not that this is directly applicable to this monitor, but I am still using a 13 year old 24 inch BenQ LCD monitor (FP241W) that is going strong and still does a great job. Glad to see that BenQ is still producing excellent monitors. Bottom line, this is a crisp, bright monitor that accepts 3 types of inputs and has great viewing angles for a great price.

It was worth buying
- September 26, 2021Benq GW2780 was a good selection. It has a DisplayPort. for this price range other brands do not have DP port. It was worth the money.

Horrible quality
- November 7, 2017[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The monitor itself had a great presence and good IQ but the quality control on this brand its TRASH!!. First monitor came broken (maybe due shipping) and the second (replacement of the first) just last 3 weeks. Had dead pixels (black line on the bottom of screen), about 1.5" long from top to bottom. I was lucky that the store manager make an exception and gave me full refund. Thanks Bill Pescatore.

Excellent budget monitor for readers
- January 29, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being an avid reader and lover of e-books, I needed a monitor that would prevent my eye fatigue. I have used this monitor for about a week so far, and I really like the reading mode with the automatic sensor that adjusts its brightness according to my office's lighting condition. Highly recommend it to office workers and students who sit in front of the monitor long.

Mixed up order
- January 28, 2023[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I came in the store and asked for a BenQ GL2780 to be ordered. Without my noticing, what got ordered was a BenQ GW2780. The connectors are different. I wanted a digital DVI connection. I got it to work with an analog VGA connection and an adapter and otherwise like to monitor, so I'm keeping it.

A great monitor
- May 31, 2019This is a second BenQ monitor I purchased for my daughter, preparing for the animation college. The picture is crystal clear with high resolution and the size is more than enough for all possible needs. Excellent for watching movies. A great product.

BenQ GW2780
- September 15, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great 1080p monitors that has a lot of inputs. We use them at work and they are fairly reliable. It comes with hdmi cable and has dvi, and vga inputs also. It also has display port. I recommend for the office, if you don't need 4k.
