    Nicely-Designed, Well-Crafted Kettle

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Clean lines, easy operation, lime doesn't accumulate, nice stainless steel-design, little plastic. We use multiple times daily and are very happy with the purchase (also own a few other small Breville appliances (microwave, pizza oven). The cord can be hidden/shortened with the under base hideaway as shown in images that I've attached.

    Pool quality kettle

    First time bought the kettle a years ago, six months later, inside the kettle got rushed. Very dispointed.! see attached pictures.

    no replacement parts

    I bought this kettle a few years ago. The lid has a rubber gasket that goes around a piece of clear plastic in the middle of the lid. The rubber gasket broke into pieces. I contacted Breville directly after calling around to many places, unable to find a gasket or even a new lid. Breville said that don't have replacement gaskets, or replacement lids and that I would have to buy a whole new kettle, even though the kettle and base work fine. So I use the kettle then have to remove the clear plastic that just sits on top, as the lid, before pouring out hot water...what does this say about Breville's quality and lack of replacement parts...

    My favourite kettle

    I have had this kettle for over 10 years now. Got as a bridal shower gift. Kettle out lasted the marriage. Recently have been having trouble with the buttons on the base, and it doesn’t chime when boiling is complete but still works. Haven’t had to descale as no scale build up at all. Love this kettle. It’s worth the money.

    Great kettle but new plug design is terrible

    The IQ kettle is great! This is our 2nd (first one lasted almost 10 years). The only negative is the new cord design. The cord coming out of the plug on an angle and gets in the way of anything on the right side. It’s very stiff & awkward. I prefer the previous design & hope Breville goes back to that style.

    Some Issues

    We love our IQ Kettle and use it daily for our Tea and Coffee beverages. It is clearly out of warranty, we have had it a number of years. Recently the lid release button jammed in the open position and when I explored the problem I found the little clutch for slow opening of the lid had broken. (Picture attached). The second issue is the start button on the base unit will only start if we hold the keep warm button as well as the start button. Like I said we love our IQ Kettle and would like a new little clutch part and a solution to the start button issue. Thanks

    Will not last long

    Te kettle died after less than 2 years, although we didn't use it much. Of course the warranty was only 1 year (who would provide a longer warranty for such a poor quality product anyway?). There is not parts support. The base (the part that died) in is back order and even if it becomes available, I will have to pay a significant amount to replace it. Not recommended. Breville products seems to be low quality in general. I also have a blender that turned out to be a very weak and toyish product two weeks after I bought it. Smokes come out of it and temporarily stops working when it is under slight pressure. It is ridiculous.

    An excellent but expensive kettle by Breville

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all the very high price of this will most likely discourage most buyers from purchasing this item. I was also apprehensive about spending so much on a basic kitchen appliance. But I am happy that I gambled on this item. Breville make very solid durable appliances. This is no exception, it has several settings for teas and also a keep warm function. You only need to lightly touch the button and it goes from white to red so that you know it is warming up and it beeps once it is done. I have only had this for 1 year but I am hoping that it lasts for a very long time because I am satisfied with the speed that it boils water.

    Hope the replacement kettle will work right!

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the past year, I have enjoyed using the Breville kettle on a daily basis with no problems. I liked it so much, I bought a second kettle for our vacation home. Sorry to say that the variable temp mechanism on the new one stopped functioning within two weeks of purchase -- every setting just boiled the water and the kettle wouldn't beep or shut off automatically. I called Breville and they shipped me a new kettle pronto and gave me a prepaid shipping label to send the defective kettle back. I just received the new kettle and have my fingers crossed that it will work as it should. I still have very positive regard for this tea kettle. Hope kettle #3 works as well as kettle #1!

    Surprisingly good, chalk resistant.

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This item was expensive and it does its job very well on a daily basis. But what I noticed is there’s never chalk or calcium on the bottom. We always use filtered water and we always had chalk every several weeks. It was super hard to get rid of it. On this machine, there’s nothing. Looks absolutely like day one.Just look at the picture. I never used descale or vinegar.
