I've had this kettle for a while and it works fine BUT it's rusting around the bottom rim, inside the top rim, and around the spout. I wonder about the health risks of the rust as the material under the glossy white paint is obviously not stainless steel. I own several other Breville products and love their reliability and durability. Unfortunately, this kettle seems not to be made to the same high standard as in the past.

Bought the Smart Kettle Luxe in November of 2023. 21 months later, the kettle boils fine, but the lid no longer closes. We have to put a heavy cup on the kettle to keep the lid closed as it comes to a boil. It is a minor thing, but it definitely affects convenience and useability. That is to be expected for a cheap kettle, but not for this price.

I've only had this for a couple of years, never dropped it, never closed the lid too roughly, always treated it well and now the clear glass lid is cracking by itself all around the edge and a large crack is starting to form down towards the center. Whatever material they used here is obviously not durable enough to handle heat. This is unacceptable. Screams of cheap cost cutting at the expense of the customer at the end of the day. (whatever black marks you see around the metal rim are reflections of my pendant lights, not scuff marks, I've kept it in immaculate shape)

This kettle is awesome. After about 6 months of being on the fence about it I decided to give it a try. There were some negative reviews on the website that made me skeptical. I’ve had this kettle for about 3 weeks and I love it. Boils super fast, the different temperature settings are awesome. I own several breville products and have not been disappointed so far. I purchased the simple stainless steel option and it’s so sleek and lovely. It was worth the money IMO. Not a paid review by the way.

Got this Kettle as a house warming gift from my best friend, the build quality of this kettle surprised me. There is lots of functions that you can select to have different boiled water for different purpose. But only used 9 months, the electric base was not working, I called the customer service, the customer service representative was very patient and helpful and offered to exchange my issue kettle to a new one without any fees. After I got the new one, this kettle has no more issue so far. I have lots of small kitchen appliances from Breville, it always my No.1 brand to go for my kichen.

DO NOT BUY THIS FOR THE LOOK. Unless you are. Going to use the setting. I use one setting once a day for tea and it’s all rusted inside. How can stainless steel rust? Should have bought a cheap kettle for a 5th of the price and had no issues with it. If you happen to tap it on your tea pot or somewhere it will chip off the paint as well.

This is our 2nd Breville electric kettle in 5 years. Identical model both the on/off button stopped functioning properly. First time it gave up- thought it was a one off but the next one did the same thing. Too expensive to last such a short time. NOT built to last. I’ll pay less and replace with the same frequency.

This kettle is amazing! It boils very quickly and it very elegant looking in appearance. The only downside is, the opening to pour the water through, isn't as wide as previous models I've owned. I believe it's due to the filter. If that was adjusted it would be perfect!

The new Kettle is great the instructions were clear easy to use, it seems well built, matches the espresso machine and toaster that we have from Breville

An elegant, sturdy and easy to use kettle. A great addition to our kitchen. I am sure it will be as long lasting as my other Breville appliances.
