- Not happy with Ink Software- August 19, 2018
Their firmware updates, will tell you that the ink tank is empty, when it is not. Too Many Updates and too much ink used. Their Fast and Save Ink are horrible software combination. Have to remove the whole tray if using 1/2 sheet of paper or special paper. Doesn't recognize that the tray has been replaced. Their is no desktop icon to change default. Have to hunt it down using devices on computer. We have to unplug devices because of intense lighting storms in Florida. Printer Shoots ink out to clean the heads, every time you re-plug it in. WASTE OF INK! Won't buy another Brother ever.

Just put a new cartridge in and barely got 100 pages. I print in grayscale and ink saver mode. This printer has cost me more money in ink then the original price of the printer. I am reading that everyone is having the same issue with Brother ink cartridges and when they reply to your review they tell everyone the same thing. Page size, font size etc. BS Would give 0 stars if able. I will be getting rid of the Brother printer and purchasing another brand printer. And they never answer emails.

This ink is of good quality, but these printers suck out so much. There are tricks to make the ink last, but even then it seems like I have to buy ink more often than I should. The settings are on "ink saving" too. This ink isn't too costly, but I still feel like I could be saving more. The cartridge is easy to install unless the printer is having a bad day with sensing the new cartridge. I usually end up turning the printer off and on while keeping the cartridge door open.
