[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wrote this for my SX730, but the specs for the SX740 are similar for still photo. Love this thing! Most concerts don't allow cameras with removable lenses. This one is the best as it has a 40x OPTICAL zoom....(don't fall for cameras that boast digital....you will NEVER get a clear pict using digital zoom) You can be the envy of your concert going friends using their iPhones trying to capture an image like this....! Last pict at The Stones concert shows how far back I was and still got some incredible photos no phone camera would achieve. Stop relying on your phone for everything!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought camera for trip to Africa. Camera gets great pictures using optical zoom and good pics using digital zoom. I got many of the best pictures in my group with others using full size DSLRs. Auto focus can be slow at times in the video mode. Using a small tripod stick helped steady the small camera on long shots.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely please at the clarity and resolution I am getting with my images. The photo of my daughter jumping is over 75 yards away. The soccer pictures have quick movement and the ball is rolling. I shoot on the action mode for soccer. My low lighting shots weren't as great, as expected, but I am still please. The pink and blue shirt images were late in the day and it was overcast. The bird's tongue was lapping up the juice concoction and it came out wonderfully clear as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own a Canon mirrorless but wanted something even more portable. Biggest downside for removable lens cameras is that big zooms are physically large and very expensive. This camera's 40x zoom is incredible. It can even be boosted digitally. I'm now able to get wildlife shots I didn't have the reach for from my other camera. Still small enough to fit in a jeans pocket. I have heard others say the battery life on this isn't great but I have used it off and on all day on one battery with no issue. It takes pretty good video and with the zoom it's even more handy. The only two issues I have with this is you can't take RAW photos and that the 4k is kept hidden in it's own mode instead of just an option with the other video quality. This is a lot of camera for this price. I carry this with me everyday now. I hope Canon decides to keep up with point and shoots because they do have a place in the photography world.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am pleased with this camera, it takes good pictures with the Auto settings so far. I am still learning and familiarizing with the other features and settings of the camera. The 40x zoom is a great feature on this camera. No need to change lens to get such a powerful zoom. I had a coupon which made it very worth the price. After the pandemic situation improves, this is the camera I will bring along for traveling. Because the camera is a bit heavy, I bought a heavier-duty strap to replace the one that came with the camera. Other than that, I am happy with this camera.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a “Don’t leave home without it kind of guy when it comes to my camera. However, there are times that I just don’t want to be bogged down by lugging a DSLR with me. I purchased it so I could have a compact, yet, very good camera. This particular camera meets what I was wanting. It takes very good photos. I love the powerful telephoto strength. It’s more powerful than the telephoto lens on my more expensive DSLR. It’s almost an exceptional camera. There are only a couple of cons that I can think of right now. It’s a bit heavier than I anticipated, and It has more bells and whistles than I expected. I can live with both of them though. I don’t like the lack of a view finder…but I knew about that before I made my purchase. All in all…I’m impressed with the camera.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a small handheld camera to take on adventures, with out having to lug around my canon 5D mark iii, as it’s way to heavy. This camera reminded me of a mini 5D with WiFi, the quality is by far better than I imagined. See my test shot of the moon standing in my living room last night, taken on auto mod. then I zoomed in & wow the photo speaks for itself. The WiFi set up with my iPhone 11 pro was very easy to set up & I love the easy access to transfer photos from the camera to the phone. I highly recommend regardless if you have any experience or not this camera will have you shooting photos like a pro.
