The Epiphone Dove Studio is part of the all-new Epiphone Studio Acoustic Collection. These guitars have been completely reimagined to offer the most authentic and affordable acoustic guitars inspired by iconic Gibson designs. The Dove Studio is based on the Gibson Dove, which was Gibson's second square-shoulder dreadnought guitar design and was released two years after the Hummingbird was introduced in 1960. The Dove Studio offers a blend of classic design and modern functionality and will appeal equally to beginners and seasoned players alike. Based on the iconic Gibson Dove acoustic guitar that has been embraced by players across a wide range of musical genres, the Dove Studio has a square shoulder dreadnought body and 25.5" scale length, just like the Gibson guitar that inspired it.
The Dove Studio delivers a bright, clear tone with a strong midrange presence, making it an ideal choice for a variety of musical styles. The Dove Studio features a layered maple body with six-ply antique ivory and black binding on the top, four-ply antique ivory and black binding on the back, and a solid spruce top for a responsive, balanced tone with excellent dynamic range. Because it has a solid top, it will sound even better as it ages. The mahogany neck is joined to the body with a glued-in tapered dovetail neck-to-body joint and features a Rounded C profile that ensures easy playability. The neck is capped with a bound rosewood fretboard, equipped with 20 standard frets, and adorned with the classic split parallelogram inlays that are a hallmark of the Dove design. The other ends of the strings pass over a compensated plastic saddle and are anchored to the belly-up rosewood Dove bridge with ivory-colored bridge pins.
Epiphone also included other details that give the Dove Studio even more vintage-style visual appeal, including the pearloid dove inlays on the bridge, a Dove pickguard with the iconic Dove graphics, high-quality Grover Rotomatic tuners for precise and stable tuning, and a 60s Kalamazoo-style headstock with the Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown inlaid in mother of pearl. The Dove Studio comes with Fishman electronics, including an S-Core under-saddle pickup and Fishman Presys VT preamp with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls that are easy for the player to access while remaining virtually invisible to the audience.
The Epiphone Dove Studio has a gloss Natural finish and is offered in both right-handed and left-handed versions. A standard gig bag is also included.
