I’ve had this cooktop for about 1-1/2 months and it’s SO badly scratched I’m likely going to have to replace it in a year. It’s basically ruining my new kitchen. I don’t use harsh chemicals or sponges and it’s pretty much ruined already. I’m so very disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Cooktop, specially th tri ring power burner, its powerful and i love cooking on it , the only thing i dont like the other burners are not big enough for my pots, i cook everyday and this 5 burner with griddle is perfect , the option of gas lock button is amazing safety fetaure, in case you leaving home or at night, qulaity of cooktop is great and stainless steel looks sleek

Just replaced this cooktop with my still functioning 25yr old white GE 4 burner cooktop. This SS appliance has more cooking power than any high-end unit for its size. The burners provide every need from simmering to large pot boiling. The cast iron grates along with the cast grill top allows every type of cooking. Just be careful when you clean because this gauge of stainless can easily scratch. And having back illuminated knobs indicating burner is on is very slick. Nice touch GE ! Anyone who complains about the plastic knobs melting, need to learn how to cook. If you are that unaware of where you place a hot pot, that’s your fault not GE’s. BTW, GE offers 5 different colored replacement knobs if needed.

Excellent cooktop. Definitely not a disappointment as I have been waiting years to again have the opportunity to cook with gas. It is carefully designed and has a sleek clean look. It functions exactly as advertised with many helpful features that will assist in making cooking time fun and stress-free. Perfect meals every time.

I love my new GE profile gas cooktop!! I've been using it for a little over two weeks, and it is amazing. The large 18,000 BTU center burner is a favorite, it absolutely boils water in a couple of minutes and works wonderfully with a 12 quart stock pot for making soup, chili, beef stew, all of which I have made. And the simmer setting worked with that 12 quart pot of beef stew like a charm. I'm definitely cooking with gas now!! The electronic ignition is great and the lock that you can engage to prevent accidental ignition is also very useful, even though there are no small children in my house. I also love the layout of the burners, very nice. I love that the grates and control knobs are dishwasher safe!!!

The knobs are plastic , it got melted already. Very disappointed

We have been using this product for 2 months now and while the burners are good, the knobs are melting. I don’t understand how this happened or why a cooktop would be designed without heat resistant materials? I thought maybe I did something wrong but I am now reading several other reviews saying the same thing. Very disappointing…my advice is to pick a different cooktop because ours already looks cheap after a significant investment.

Replaced a 14yr old GE cooktop. The new on looks great and works well. Very simple install. The straps to secure the stove were too short so had to use my own so be aware. I have seen comments about the gap at the front of the stove where it meets the counter. There is a small gap in the center, maybe 1/2 mm. I am pretty OCD and it is not something I can't live with.

Who would think that making the knobs and grates the same height was a good thing? Using a 10 or 12” pan on the front burners scratch off the finish on the knobs...looks horrible. Need to try and find the part number so I can buy a set to replace them before we sell....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cooktop looks really nice and works quite well. However, the nobs are plastic and one of them has already shown signs of melting - roughly a week after the unit was installed. If metal nobs are an option, I would highly recommend it.
