- Falls Short of Other Nest Products- October 25, 2021
I have invested a lot in Google Nest, WiFi and hubs throughout my home. I have been using Google products for years and have enjoyed their quality and function. I was very disappointed with this Camera and Floodlight combo. My biggest let downs were it does not integrate with the existing Nest App. You can only view the camera through the Goggle home App and it is not as good as the Nest App. The lag from the time you open the Google Home App to being able to see video on the cameras is slow and can often take up to a minute for them to become available and refresh. The same cameras in the Nest App are visible almost immediately. So to have this camera only available in the Google Home App is frustrating. I have high-speed internet and tested the signal so I know it is not a WiFi issue. I also am using the Google WiFi mesh products so they integrate well with all of my Google products. Secondly, the night vision is horrible. I could not tell if the night vision was even on. I was fiddling around with the settings and turned the night vision off and then realized it was an even darker image so the night vision must have been on, but just so poor that it was difficult to see. I have five other Nest cameras that all have night vision and they are all lit up and you can see quite a distance. This camera's night vision is horrible. Third, the floodlight can only be turned on when you are either viewing the live video through the camera at night or if the sensor picks up motion. I wanted the ability to turn the floodlight on using the app and keep it on. If I want a light in the area the lights are located and want them to stay on that would be a standard feature. I can do that with a regular $50.00 LED floodlight. This camera floodlight combo is expensive and I thought it would be much better. I am returning the product and am disappointed with all the wasted time. I watched reviews and these items were not shared. I hope it helps others make an informed decision before purchasing. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

- Some reviews are not for this camera / floodlight- October 26, 2021
Some of the reviews are not for this product. The reviews were originally posted on Google LLC and just dropped on to this product. You can tell the reviews are not for this camera as this security camera with floodlight is not a battery-operated camera. It is hardwired into an exterior light fixture box. These other reviews are boosting the overall rating for this light giving it a false rating. The cameras that some of these other reviews are talking about are for the new Google Nest wireless cameras. I owned this product and was not impressed. I took it back for its overall poor function. It is a big step back from the previous generation of Google Nest cameras. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
