What customers are saying

The product appears to have mixed reviews. Some customers report positive experiences, such as the dishwasher being quiet, cleaning dishes well, and providing good value. However, the majority of reviews are highly negative, with frequent malfunctions, issues with the control panel and drainage system, and dishes not getting properly cleaned or dried. Many reviewers strongly advise against purchasing this product due to the high rate of problems and poor user experience.

    Great dishwasher for the price

    Reviewed by - December 25, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I been totally satisfied with the dishwasher, follow instructions and read the manual and everything is easy. I loved the fact the the inside is stainless steel, no funny smells. Let’s see how it keeps up in the long run. Also compared to the Samsung low budget stainless steel model dw80r5061us @ $579.99, I feel this one is built more sturdier. Both models are pretty much comparable. I am pretty sure the Samsung will last longer. But for price bargain this will do the job. One good factor, this dishwasher doesn’t show the name brand on the front stainless steel panel, which is good if you are worried about brands being mixed up on your Appliances.

Troubleshooting is useless, doesnt actually cancel

    Reviewed by Tom - September 15, 2020

It does a good job cleaning the dishes. The thing I don’t like about it is that if you accidentally hit a cycle button, you can’t cancel the cycle. Only way I’ve been able to deal with it is to leave the door partially open or to run it on the express cycle. Wastes electricity and water when it could just cancel the cycle but the command doesn’t work at all. Went through the manual and looked online and nothing I’ve been able to find in the troubleshooting has been able to correct it. It also constantly beeps and nothing seems to get it to stop until you run a cycle on it. Better to spend the extra money to get an easier to operate appliance.

    It does the job.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 13, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It gets the dishes clean, and the normal wash setting does it in a mere 2 hours. (Our previous dishwasher would run for 4 or 5 hours.) However, it is noisy, and there is a burning smell later in the cycle. Also, canceling delay start has proved to be difficult to do. I sometimes have to hold the start button for 3 seconds multiple times before it starts. Also, the slots for silverware make it hard to load/unload dishes, but you can simply lift the plastic component which has the slots, and use the silverware trays as you would any other dishwasher. However, it you do this, be careful not to let any utensils slide between the trays, otherwise, you'll have trouble closing the unit.

    Beware of misleading pictures

    Reviewed by - February 27, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Buyer beware! On the website the "White" version has a light Stainless Steel look in the pictures. That is NOT at all how it actually looks. The "White" is actually white. Very,Very misleading. Returning to get another. We bought it because it is the best best bang for buck dishwasher here.

    Major Disappointment

    Reviewed by Sandy - May 14, 2021

Unfortunately, it took a month before I could have this installed in our new basement and it didn't work properly. It ran a cycle everytime you closed the door and if you didn't close it, it beeped every 30seconds. The display flashed non stop and drew energy while it didn't run, lights always flashing. I ended up having a technician come out, only to come to learn no parts were available for this brand new unit. Then, Insignia refused to provide me with a refund. They exchanged the unit but why on earth would I want a unit I could never fix?? Luckily, BestBuy took it back and I was able to upgrade to a Bosch. Best decision ever. Never buying Insignia again, nor would I ever recommend anyone waste their money!

    Avoid this brand

    Reviewed by GZ - September 25, 2020

After only one use the Insignia dishwasher broke. Technician came and ordered new control panel. After almost 3 months I was advised that they will replace dishwasher, and not a broken part. I am choosing different / more reliable brand now to be replacement for Insignia.

    Don't buy Insignia

Reviewed by Unhappy customer - August 21, 2024

I purchased an Insignia dishwasher 3 years ago. It stopped draining so I checked the hoses and they are clear so it is likely a problem with the pump. I phoned every repair place in town and they don't service Insignia because they can't get parts. I spent hours bouncing back and forth on the phone between Insignia and Best Buy. Best Buy Geek Squad will only repair their products if you have purchased the extended warranty... no repair service otherwise (they probably just replace rather than repair this junk). So off to recycling it goes. What an absolute waste of resources on a finite planet Also, it is poorly designed. Strangely the console is lit up all the time except when the unit is running so you don't get information on where it is in the cleaning cycle but the console lights stay on 24/7 otherwise. I have purchased a lot of stuff from Best Buy over the years but I will never buy their Insignia brand products ever again. Junk junk junk - a total waste of resources!

    Avoid - does not work

    Reviewed by Meghan - July 30, 2019

We purchased this dishwasher and it was defective - the control panel does not respond. The dishwasher works for 2 minutes, beeps for 5, then shuts off. I called to let Best Buy know this was defective the day after it was delivered, and was told a technician would call between 2-3 days. No one called. I had to call back and now I'm waiting to hear from a technician again. I should have paid closer attention to the reviews. Don't buy this dishwasher.

    Poor product and warranty service

    Reviewed by Yatin - March 29, 2022

I bought this dishwasher and for first couple of months everything worked fine. Then the problems started. The dishwasher would overflow water during the cycle and refuse to drain water at the end of the cycle. Sometimes it would just stop mid cycle and throw in some error code E1, E5 or something else. Since this was still under warranty we decided to call up Best Buy who after 2 hours of waiting gave us the number of Geek Squad and said they handle their warranty service. We needed to try Geek Squad for at least 2-3 days before we could actually talk to someone. Following this there was a delay of 1 week just to open our claim during which time we needed to follow up constantly. Following this they finally transferred our file to the actual repair firm who gave us the earliest appointment for a technician visit 2 weeks later. After 2 weeks the technician visited for 5 minutes checked and said these drain pumps are very bad it's dead in this one also so we need a new pump. Guess what we need to wait another 3 weeks to get the pump after which they will schedule the actual repair after few weeks. So friends, here I am after paying for a new dishwasher and been washing my whole families dishes for a full 1 month and still waiting for the warranty repair to be done. Save yourself all this trouble. See all the other reviews here, their drain pumps are terrible and giving problems to many users. Do not buy this machine.
