Extended Coverage but dropped the ball

    Reviewed by Mars - January 23, 2021

My internet provider suggested the Tp-Link to correct the problem of a weak signal at the front of the house. My router is at the back of the house. Being an older home, with plaster walls, the signal weakened as it tried to reach the front room. I installed the TP-Link and it gave me an excellent signal to my tv, however it constantly dropped the connection to my network. It happened every day, at least twice a day, so I gave up on it and left my tv with its weak to medium signal with no network loss of connection issues. Maybe this works in homes made of wallboard without issue but with solid plaster walls, forget it. It's a waste of money.

Very good range, worth the price

    Reviewed by Mac - April 29, 2023

Just bought and installed today. First I was skeptic about this product. My garage was 100feet away from the house. I set up as per instruction with ease. Plug the extender at the back wall of the house. Then set up my blink camera. After that I put my camera at the rear fence gate and boom! Instant connection with no lags. My property lot was 150 feet, the house back wall to the rear gate is 100 feet. I don’t need to plug the extender at the garage because it can detect the wireless camera no problem. Overall review 10 out of five.🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 I am very happy with the product Cheers!

Great signal strength and awesome connectivity

    Reviewed by - April 8, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed the Archer C2600 in our sister office which has two computers, a server and a network all-in-one printer. They just got broadband hooked up but the installation only included the modem. We had to supply our own router. The Archer C2600 was perfect since it is a dual router offering both wired and wireless connectivity. Installation was extremely easy. Just follow the illustrated sheet. It is sleek and stylish looking with 4 very large antennas. I really like how the LED lights are barely visible. You can even turn them off in the settings menu. The router's interface setting menu is easy to use. It has great features such as parental controls, QoS (prioritizing devices), guest account just to name a few. The router has two USB ports. I attempted to setup a network printer but a heck of a time. The printer showed up on the router device map but even after downloading the TP-Link USB Printer Controller Utility it still would not print. I than attempted to make the printer a local printer again and it would not work. I finally figured out I had to uninstall the USB Printer Control Utility program then everything went back to normal. The printer I was trying to install was an HP 4050N, so it was an antique. I will give the router the benefit of the doubt and maybe the printer driver was just too out of date. You can see in the attached pictures the printer was recognized. The Archer C2600 has superior signal strength. Pretty much throughout the open layout office all mobile devices had full bars. I also had to buy a switch to add more Ethernet cables and there was or lag or decrease in speed. If you are looking for an easy to connect dual router that offers great signal strength, awesome connectivity and able to take on the mass amount of wireless devices - the TP-Link Archer C2600 is for you.

    Great Router

    Reviewed by - March 18, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a review of a free product received by TP-LINK as part of the review program. This router was easy to set up and use. It took less than five minutes to get this up and running. This is a great router to have if you have multiple devices connecting to it for Wi-Fi because it supports all the devices without taking a hit on streaming or downloading. I can stream movies and play Xbox live at the same time without any lag. The dual band technology and beam forming technology will give you great coverage all throughout your house, keeping you connected to the internet no matter where you are inside. The router comes with 4 antennas that can be adjusted if needed.

    Great fast router

    Reviewed by - March 11, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a very easy router to configure. I was up and running in less than 5 minutes on my Verizon FIOS network. I like the Mulit-user MIMO technology as I can run multiple devices simultaneously without any performance hits on my streaming. The beamforming technology is also an added bonus with the router. I get my full 50 up and 50 down with the speed tests and it shows when downloading files. The TP-LINK tether app is also nice as you can manage your network right through the app. Highly recommended for someone who is looking for a reasonable priced router with great performance. Excellent Extender

    Reviewed by - July 20, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Range extenders continue to get faster and better and this one by TP-Link is no exception. This one comes with 4 antennas and is good for AC2600 dual-band wi-fi over both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels. The setup was very easy and using the TP Tether app to manage configuration setting is very straight forward. In addition, the gigabit ethernet is useful when placing ti near other network devices that could benefit from a wired connection. I have over 25+ devices on my network at any given time and probably half would connect to range extender with no dropped connections or noticeable slowdown. Overall this is a great extender to use. Made everything worse

    Reviewed by jdb - September 25, 2020

I needed to boost my internet in one area of my house. With this thing on it works for a few minutes and then I lose internet everywhere. Even in places where it worked fine before. My internet will just drop out completely until I go unplug this thing and then I get a signal back. Waste of money - and I still have an internet problem.

Looks like a good quality product but no good

WIFI problem with one room in the back of the house, upstairs, on the opposite side of where my modem/router is located in my den. Not a new problem. Every other room is fine. I have 2G WIFI. Tried the extender in every room, including the room where my modem/router is located....very poor reception worse than without it. I'm getting 50 Mbps in the same room as a 2,000 Mbps WIFI modem? I tried moving it around, different plugs in different rooms, different times of day, after a few days of warm up, no better. Waste of time and money. I'm taking it back to Best Buy. I'd be better off finding a way to fish a Cat8 ethernet cable to that back room...like the old days of early internet.

    simple but it works.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 17, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 20 ft from my house to my garage is perfect spot for this extended. Since covid, i moved my home office out to my garage and it was a good connection but not the best. Until i added this little guy. Not im able to sit through many webex meetings and not have to try to listen through stutters or wait for my image to catch up. Setup was so easy that a few months down the road, I can even recall what i did. So simple it wasn't memorable, and i can think of many devices that i will never be able to forget the struggle of setup. anyway if you need an extender and this is still available, go for it.

    No Clear Instructions

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 14, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the TP-Link AC2600 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Range Extender on 3/3/2022. The instructions don't appear to be clear. I don't understand how I'm supposed to know if the items I use are connected to the extender. Your instructions say to connect to the extender network. Does this mean I'm supposed to connect this to MY internet? I mean your instructions are very vague and not clear. I thought the extender was supposed to connect to my wi-fi and then the extender feed off of my wi-fi???? Your FAQ: Q1 says to choose a network. I'm so confused. How can the extender work if it doesn't ask me to verify my own wi-fi connection? I very close to returning the device to the store. I need answers.
