It can add music files from a local hard drive or network storage and automatically retrieve music metadata from the cloud to build a custom music library by matching artists, albums, local CUE files, and more; songs are automatically displayed in categories based on genres, albums, artists and sample rates. This makes it easier than ever to searching through your music library.
Create a Personalized Music Library
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 not only boasts powerful playback and decoding capabilities, but also supports cross-platform addition of music files from local drives or network storage. It automatically categorizes and displays information such as artists, composers, albums, genre, sample rate and so on, while supporting functions like quick searches, creating a dedicated music library just for you. Music files need to contain ID3 metadata.
Media Management System
The DMP-A6 offers a robust media management system that enables editing operations for local hard drive and network storage devices. Copying, pasting, cutting, and deleting are all possible without having to use your computer. The USB OT port can be configured as USB OTG, making it easy to connect a PC to DMP-A6 via USB cable for local file copying and management. Internal SMB sharing functionality allows you to share media files from a connected mobile device or internal SSD to other media playback devices on your network. This effectively means the DMP-A6 itself can be used as a network storage drive, in addition to being used for playback.
CD Playback and Ripping
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 allows for CD playback by connecting a compatible external USB optical disc drive. The built-in CD Rip app adopts a data validation mechanism and error correction function to save audio data from CD losslessly. The application's algorithm intelligently matches CD album and song names (officially released CDs are required), losslessly rips tracks, and automatically generates album and artist info.
Multiple Network Protocols
DMP-A6 not only has two high-speed USB 3.0 ports, an SSD slot for local storage expansion, but also supports NFS, SMB v1/v2/v3, and UP sharing protocols, allowing users to browse and play multimedia content saved on NAS or network drives connected in the same network. Even high data rate DSD512 master files can be played without stuttering, provided your network is stable and up to the task.

Wide Variety of Inputs and Outputs
XLR and RCA outputs are present to connect with your active speakers or amplifier. Just like that, you're streaming. Thanks to its suite of inputs, DMP-A6 can also be used to connect with various high-end audio devices. As a decoder, DMP-A6 can connect with audio source equipment like computers and mobile devices through Coaxial, Optical, USB Type-C inputs, and wirelessly via Bluetooth 5 with AAC/SBC.
HDMI ARC Input
New for Gen 2, the HDMI ARC (audio return channel) input allows direct transmission of TV audio to the DMP-A6.
HDMI Multi-Channel Output
The separate HDMI OUT port supports DSD Native and up to 5.1 channel output, combining music and home theatre for a thrilling surround sound experience.

Wake-on-LAN
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 introduces the WOL (Wake-on-LAN) feature, allowing you to wake up the streamer via the app without manual intervention. This feature makes your music accessible anytime and anywhere, enhancing the convenience of your Hi-Fi experience. It requires a wired ethernet network connection.
