This adapter works perfectly! Windows 10 Pro
- June 14, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works perfectly! Very important! Download the driver from the J5 website and install (Admin Privileges) first! The restart the computer. After that, my system recognized the adapter perfectly! Running great through a USB 3.0 HUB. I have a gaming system with the Nvidia RTX 3080 Gaming Trio video card. This is a flight sim rig. I already have 4 monitors (1 43" 4K Ultra, and three 10" mini's). I bought an add-on Garmin GPS simulator that requires HDMI. So I wanted a USB to HDMI converter for this purpose. I tested it out first with a 7" mini monitor. Works perfectly. So five monitors now on my system. For the price, well worth it.

A Fortunate Occurrence, Picking Up the J5Create
- September 15, 2019[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a bit annoyed to not have a larger selection of devices on hand when I went looking for a USB-to-HDMI adapter. However, I was in a pinch, and I needed to complete the job I was working on. The price was in line with the range I expected for a quality adapter and the construction seemed substantial. Well as it turned out, the setup was very easy, and the picture quality on the monitor was great. My client was quite happy with the picture quality that she saw. I'm quite happy with what it's delivered. Caveat: The monitor wasn't 4K so I didn't get to see the unit's capabilities tested under 4K conditions. Anyone reading this review should be mindful of this last point.

Easy method to add an additional monitor
- July 9, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worked great out of the box with minimal setup. Purchased to use for a 3rd monitor on a Windows 10 PC. I plugged it into a USB 3.0 port and then to the HDMI cable to the monitor and it came right up with no drivers or files to install. I just had to change the monitor order in Settings and it has worked great with no signal loss or display issues. With a previous display adapter (different brand) I used on this computer, the monitor would randomly go black while using it. I haven't had any issues at all with this one. I will definitely purchase again if I need another display adapter in the future.

AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE, PLEASE READ, DO NOT BUY
- June 5, 2022[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I should have been suspicious from the horribly convoluted directions that make you jump through a half dozen hoops "please read this!! you really need to pay attention to this." The drivers ask you to accept their software even though it's flagged as potential malware, then the product asks you to accept ACCESS TO YOUR SCREEN AT ALL TIMES EVEN WHEN OTHER APPS ARE RUNNING. I get all kinds of error messages I can't get rid of like "we have claimed your USB port and are now driving it"... AND THEIR UNINSTALL PROGRAM DOESN'T WORK. They wanted me to grant them access to my screen and reverse privacy settings, which I can't put back to blocking them. Also, the driver doesn't work, so who knows if the hardware even works.

Expensive but gets the job done.
- February 28, 2019[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this for a coworker who was having issues with a similar but older version of the same j5create adapter. My only gripe is the price. It’s expensive but most hdmi to usb adaptors are. It has worked flawlessly for her. It was plug and play in our case. No driver was needed. But the directions do come with driver downloading instructions. Included in the packaging is an hdmi (male) to a dvi (male) adaptor. I couldn’t find this listed online but her’s came with one inside. The resolution and playback are awesome. Specs for compatibility and system requirements are listed on j5create’s website. Any newer model computer or laptop should suffice. I haven’t found a need to get one for myself, but if I do, I would purchase this one in a heartbeat

It Used to Work with My MacBook Air
- August 29, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this adaptor because I am an online student in a doctoral program. I write a lot of papers so it because necessary for me to have two screens. Initially the adaptor worked with no problems. Unfortunately, several months after purchasing it, I was unable to extend the screen from my MacBook to the monitor. After researching my issue I learned that the adaptor is no longer compatible with Apple's upgrade, so I am stuck with it unless I use it with my Windows computer, which defeats the whole purpose of my purchase.

Works as described
- June 18, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well. If you don't have an HDMI port on your computer, you can plug this into a 3.0 USB port and it will deliver both Video and Sound to your TV. I can't say if it's backwards compatible with USB 2.0, haven't tested that yet. Appears to be well made, with a clean look and is easy to use. A good solution for those with limited video options on their computer. You might also try a VGA to HDMI adapter but that will not transfer Audio, only video. You would need an additional cable to carry the audio.

Good little usb video adaptor for the price.
- June 24, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to add a 3rd display to my existing laptop setup for work. Windows 10 was able to see the device, install it like any regular display adapter, and I was able to extend out my citrix sessions without an issue. Note if you're working from home and use Citrix, disable your laptop monitor before logging in and just use this and your laptop's hdmi or mini-Display port. No lag running 1080p wide. Worked fine. I'd recommend this model over the cheaper ones, the metal body helps with heat dispersion.

Nice idea but that's about it.
- July 4, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been trying to use my gaming monitor on a virtual machine as its own entity and using a laptop that wasn't possible. I figured this would do the job and oh my gosh it does not work on Linux like at all and I use Arch that's impressive. Even on Windows it is a nightmare to set up I have to go online download a program install the program hope it's the right program it's just it's overly complex for an adapter. In fact it was so little use to me I ended up just returning it.
