Better Approach to Post-Launch Content for Pokémon

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 13 mars 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I much prefer Game Freak's new DLC approach over the previous releases of a third game that always felt like a rehash of the previous pair of games for each generation. The Isle of Armor quests are pretty good. It adds a features that allow you to catch Gigantimax Pokémon or make an item that allows any Pokémon that has a Gigantimax form to Gigantimax. My favorite part of the Expansion Pass is the Max Den Raid feature found in the Crown Tundra. The story/quest in Crown Tundra is silly, but feels very "Pokémon"; so, that's OK. I've spent as much or more time in the expansion areas as I did in the base game; so, good value IMO.

Don't bother buying this in store

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 5 août 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I drove all the way to the best buy to purchase the physical card. Why 1 star you may ask? Well, at check-out the cashier took the card away from me and said the code would print on the receipt. I explained the card was a birthday gift and I wanted to take the card home anyway. She wouldn't let me since they have "limited stock of cards" - even though I pulled it from a giant stack in the video game department. So, instead of giving my son a cool looking Pokemon expansion card, I gave him a receipt instead. Thanks for wasting my time and gas, Best Buy - I should have just purchased it directly from the Nintendo eshop instead. Terrible experience, and the cashier wasn't friendly about it, either.

    Worth it

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 16 janvier 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved both of these dlc. The isle of armor added a lot of older gen Pokémon which made it nostalgic. You also get a must have legendary Pokémon in it which is very unique and helpful throughout the game. The crown tundra dlc is great end game content and gives you so much more to play. The visuals and story lines are much better than the normal part of the game and you can catch so many legendary Pokémon and level up fast. Both dlc add dozens or hundreds of hours to the game depending on how many Pokémon you want to catch and how much you like to explore.

    Makes for a Complete experience.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 1 janvier 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield help elevate an okay experience to a truly great Pokemon game. Isle of Armor provides a wonderful Wild Area truly greater than the first. The biomes in this area feel much more unique and fleshed out. The Crowned Tundra expansion adds wonderful lore and legendary encounters within the game. The exploration is so much fun and should be standard for Pokemon games. I feel the DLC helps put the games over the top.

It’s Pokémon for better or worse

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 18 janvier 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] More of the same as which is Pokémon’s double edged sword. First expansion doesn’t really add much to the overall game just a few new mons with an even more forgettable story. 2nd expansion is the real star here with the most additions such as lairs, new legendaries and mostly all previous legendary Pokémon from past games. It also adds tournaments which add a ton of replay for folks who doesn’t take there game online.

A way to extend your Pokémon journey

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 12 mars 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What can I say is a DLC for Pokémon. It does add more content and I liked better the tundra expansion than the isle of armor content. If you battle online this DLC would let you use more of your Pokémons from older generations. Hopefully Gamefreak add better content to Pokémon legends Arceus. Like always the Pokémon games keep evolving, adding or removing features. Pokémon legends looks promising.

    Wrong code

Reviewed by Best buyer - 17 janvier 2021

The code was suppose to be for sword or shield, we got a shield code and since we have sword, couldn't play it. As per best buy's policy, no refunds on digital codes. So if you purchase this, you will either get a sword or shield code, not a code that's compatible with both versions. So you may get a code that you can't use and will not be refunded for, should that happen.

    Pokémon !

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 3 septembre 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The most controversial series ever is back on the Switch. I really enjoyed the base game and find the DLC to be worth it for the expansion and new Pokémon added. Any Pokémon fan should enjoy this. I love the graphics and feel like this is a good direction for the future of the greatest series ever. My childhood was relived in this game and it felt great.

    Awesome add-on

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - 4 décembre 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] New content is almost certainly good. These expansion packs give you access to most iconic previous gen region pokemons (Kanto, Johto, etc). Nothing much changed with the gameplay. The story is so-so since it is mainly targeted to kids. Competitive play on the other hand is targeted to people who likes critical thinking under pressure.
