Banish Wrinkles in Your Clothes with an Iron or Steamer

If you’re confronted with a pile of wrinkly laundry every week, having an efficient iron or steamer on the job means you can quickly and easily smooth away the crimps and creases on your favourite shirt, pants, or suits.

The latest irons and steamers heat up quickly and power through your weekly ironing. The type of iron, steamer, or iron/steamer combo you choose depends on how much ironing you have to do each week and what types of features you like in an iron or steamer.

Steam Irons

A conventional steam has an inner compartment to add water that converts to steam, and because steam helps smooth out the wrinkles in your clothes, you can add small amounts of stream with the touch of a button.

Conventional steam irons can be found corded or cordless and are available from brands like Hamilton Beach, Sunbeam, and T-Fal. They have either a stainless steel, aluminum, ceramic, or non-stick plate that you run over your clothes, are fairly lightweight, and have easy to access dials and controls to adjust temperature.

In addition, irons with steam work on damp and dry clothes and are able to power through wrinkles quicker than those without.

Iron and Steamer Combined

An iron and steamer combo does double duty. On one hand an iron of this type will be your handy companion as you work your way through your wrinkled clothes, but they also have a vertical stream feature that lets you stream the wrinkles out of your curtains or other types of upholstery.

You may have only seen upright steamers working behind the scenes in a clothing store or on a runway, but standalone steamers are a handy appliance to have at home. They apply a constant stream of high pressure to your hanging clothes, upholstery, and work quickly even on dry linen.

You can de-wrinkle your entire wardrobe with a full size steamer or choose a hand held travel steamer to take along on trips. Look for brands like Conair and Rowenta when choosing a steamer.

An iron or steamer is a must-have appliance when you want to keep your clothes looking fresh and new, and when you choose the right iron or steamer you’ll be able to remove wrinkles so quickly your laundry pile will magically disappear.
