FAQ
Google Classroom is available as an app for compatible Android tablets and iPads. It can also be accessed through a supported web browser. App availability depends on the tablet’s operating system version, and school-managed accounts may have additional requirements.
Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive are commonly used to create, edit and attach coursework. Google Meet may be used for video lessons. Students can sign in with their school-provided Google Account to access the services their school has enabled.
Many tablets support Bluetooth keyboards, while some also support keyboards through a physical connector. Stylus support varies by tablet and pen model. A keyboard can be used for typing assignments, and a compatible stylus can be used for handwriting or annotation in supported apps.
Students can open an assignment in Google Classroom and attach supported files from their tablet or Google Drive. Depending on the assignment, they may also attach photos or create a document. After attaching their work, students select the turn-in option to submit it; tasks without attachments may offer a mark-as-done option instead.
Some assignment work can be completed offline by making files available offline in supported apps, such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, before disconnecting. Changes sync after the tablet reconnects to the internet. Accessing new Classroom content and submitting assignments generally require an internet connection.
