FAQ
Check that the TV’s HDMI inputs support the resolution and refresh rate you plan to use with your console or PC. Features such as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) vary by TV and sometimes by port, so review the listed specifications rather than relying on the HDMI version alone.
Game Mode is a picture preset designed for gaming that typically limits processing such as motion smoothing. Some TVs switch to this preset automatically through Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) when a compatible console sends a gaming signal.
Native refresh rate, measured in hertz (Hz), describes how many times the display refreshes each second. A motion rating is a manufacturer-specific label that may include processing or backlight techniques; it is not the same as native refresh rate. For gaming, check the native refresh rate and supported HDMI input signals.
HDR10 is commonly used for HDR gaming, while some TVs and gaming devices also support Dolby Vision gaming. Format compatibility depends on the TV, console or PC, and game. A TV’s support for Dolby Vision movies does not necessarily mean it supports Dolby Vision gaming at every refresh rate.
Common options include the TV’s built-in speakers, a sound bar or receiver connected through HDMI ARC or eARC, and an optical audio connection. Headsets may connect directly to a console, controller or PC. Check the connections and audio formats supported by each device, as Bluetooth audio support varies.
