FAQ
Check your device’s manual or manufacturer specifications for microSDXC support and any card requirements. A microSD slot alone does not confirm microSDXC compatibility. Cameras, phones, gaming systems and other devices may also require a particular file system or card rating.
The symbols identify the card’s format and technical classifications. SDXC indicates the card format, UHS-I or UHS-II identifies its bus interface, and markings such as U3 and V30 indicate minimum sequential write speed classes. A1 and A2 are application performance classifications. Match these markings to your device manufacturer’s requirements.
You can use a microSD card with an SD adapter if the host device supports the card’s format. The adapter changes the physical connection but does not convert microSDXC into another card format or add features to the card.
Insert the card into a compatible card reader, then connect the reader to your computer. Open the card in File Explorer on Windows or Finder on macOS to copy files. Some devices also let you transfer files over USB while the card remains installed.
MicroSDXC cards typically use exFAT, but you should follow the requirements of the device that will use the card. When available, use that device’s built-in formatting option. Formatting erases existing files, so copy any files you want to keep before starting.
