Spark creativity with AI storytelling! Through four virtual workshops, secondary students will learn how to create their own AI videos then put their skills to the test for top prizes. Registration closes January 30th.

Empower your students to explore AI creatively

The Create with CoPilot: AI Video Challenge invites secondary school students across Canada to explore creative AI use and broaden access to video storytelling.

Through four virtual workshops, students will learn how to use Microsoft CoPilot, Designer, and Clipchamp for collaborative AI video creation and apply their new skills to create a final video for a chance to win one of four prize packages for their school.

Who can apply?
Any publicly secondary school in Canada can apply for the competition. Priority will be given to schools who have previously won a Best Buy Tech grant. Registration closes January 30th.

Here's how it works

1. Register your school.

Sign up to participate in the workshops and competition by January 30th.

2. Learn how to use AI for video creation.

Across February, students will participate in four virtual workshops.

3. Put your new skills to the test.

Teams will have until March 13th to create and submit their final video for the competition.

4. Winners will be chosen.

Judges will review submissions and winners will be announced by April 30th.

Prizes for the winning teams

Winning teams will earn grants and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x laptops awarded to their school to celebrate creativity and support ongoing learning.

  • First place: $10,000 grant and six laptops.
  • Second place: $5000 grant and five laptops.
  • Third place: $5000 grant and five laptops.
  • Runner up: Five laptops.
