What do I get with an HP Instant Ink plan?
A Welcome Kit with ink cartridges, instructions, and a prepaid recycling envelope will be shipped to you within 7–10 days after signing up. Your subscription is monthly, but your next kit will be sent only when your ink or toner levels are low, not per month. But no need to worry—your HP Instant Ink-eligible printer alerts HP when you’re about to run out of ink and toner. Please note that your HP Instant Ink printer must be connected to the Wi-Fi so HP can get alerts.
How do I pick an HP Instant Ink plan?
Choose a plan based on the average number of pages you print. You can switch to a new plan or cancel anytime, without extra cost. Your HP Smart app dashboard will show you the number of pages you print monthly.
How many colour pages can I print?
Colour pages cost the same as black and white pages, so you can print as many as you want. You can purchase an extra set of pages if you go beyond the number of pages on your plan. If you print fewer pages, you can roll over the pages to the next month.
How does HP recycle cartridges?
Every shipment comes with a prepaid recycling envelope where you can place your empty cartridges. HP makes bigger cartridges and uses less packaging for HP Instant Ink.
What if my printing needs change?
HP Instant Ink plans are flexible. At no extra cost, you can choose a new plan or cancel your plan anytime. Unused pages roll over to the next month. If you print extra pages, you can purchase an additional set at a low price, depending on your plan. An extra set of 10 pages on the ink plan or an extra set of 50 pages on the toner plans costs $1.
What happens to my unused pages in my rollover account?
If you do not print all of your plan pages in a month, the unused pages will be tracked in your account as rollover pages. You can roll over three times the number of pages in your ink plan, and twice the number of pages in your toner plan. For example, you can roll over 150 pages on a 50-page ink plan, and 100 pages on a 50-page toner plan.
How do I sign up for HP Instant Ink?
You must have an HP Instant Ink-eligible printer to get an HP Instant Ink subscription. Best Buy customers get a $12 subscription credit when they sign up on HP through this link.

Plan upgrades are effective immediately and the charges will be applied retrospectively or in the next billing cycle, depending on user choice. Rollover plan pages: Rollover allows unused pages in a month to be placed in a rollover account and then applied to pages in excess of your monthly allowance. The rollover account balance is limited to a maximum of two times your monthly service plan pages on Toner plans and three times your monthly service plan pages on Ink plans (Toner example: you can roll over up to 100 pages if you are on the 50-page plan. Ink example: you can roll over up to 150 pages if you are enrolled in a 50-page plan.).
