We recently announced an innovative partnership with Bell Canada to operate 167 small-format consumer electronics retail stores across Canada. The Source, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell, will be rebranded as Best Buy Express and will offer leading consumer electronics from Best Buy, protection and services by Geek Squad and telecommunications services from Bell, Virgin Plus and Lucky Mobile.

We look forward to serving all The Source customers at Best Buy and Best Buy Express stores once they transition in the second half of 2024. At this time, Best Buy is unable to honour The Source gift cards, and product returns and warranties from The Source.

When will the transition take place?   

We anticipate that the first Best Buy Express stores will open the second half of 2024. Our goal is to have all stores transition to Best Buy Express by the end of 2024. Until stores transition, they will continue to operate as The Source.  


Will I be able to use my The Source gift cards at Best Buy stores? 

At this time, The Source gift cards are valid at The Source stores or online at thesource.ca. To check your current gift card balance, visit thesource.ca/gift-cards or phone 1-866-515-5855.


Will my The Source product warranty remain valid?

The Source will honour returns and exchange policies available at time of purchase.  


Can I return a product I bought from The Source to a Best Buy store?  

At this time, products purchased at The Source cannot be returned to Best Buy stores. The Source will honour returns and exchanges per policies in place at time of purchase.
