Refrigerator and Freezer Scheduled Delivery

If you’re purchasing a new refrigerator or freezer and need it delivered to your home, you can add scheduled delivery to your order. For more information, please read our guide below.

Measure before you buy: make sure you measure your space and check that the measurements of each appliance will fit properly in your home. For help getting your space measured correctly, check out these refrigerator measuring tips.

Keep in mind that major appliances cannot be returned once they're out of the box.

Delivery cost and scheduling by location

Major urban and greater surrounding areas

Scheduled delivery costs $79.99 per delivery. You'll be able to schedule a preferred delivery date during checkout.


Remote areas

The delivery cost will vary based on your location, and will be calculated based on the shipping address you enter for delivery. Once you've placed your order, one of our delivery partners will call you within 7 days to schedule a delivery date.

  • Air delivery fees: Some remote areas require air delivery. When you make your purchase, we will not yet know if air delivery will be necessary or what the fees will be. The need for air delivery will only be known during the shipment process, at which point you will be contacted and given the option to pay the air delivery fee or cancel your order. If you don't respond within 48 hours, your order will automatically be cancelled.

Quebec residents

There is no charge for scheduled delivery in both urban and remote areas across the province of Quebec. However, if air delivery is required for a remote delivery, you will be contacted and given the option to pay the air delivery fee or cancel your order.


P.O. Boxes

Due to carrier restrictions, we cannot deliver large items to P.O. box addresses.


Delivery of bulk orders (7 or more large items)

If your order includes 7 or more large items, the cost of delivery may be adjusted to account for the bulk shipment. The cost of bulk order delivery will only be known during the shipment process. If the cost is different than what you originally paid, you will be contacted and notified, and you'll be given the option to pay the added delivery cost or to cancel your order.


Changing your refrigerator or freezer's scheduled delivery date

You can reschedule your refrigerator or freezer's delivery date up to 2 days before your original scheduled delivery date. 

To do so, contact us with your order number handy. You can find your order number:

  • In the subject line of your order confirmation email.
  • In your My Best Buy account's Order History (if you placed the order from your My Best Buy or Best Buy account).

How to prepare for your refrigerator or freezer's delivery

Before our delivery partner arrives to your residence with your refrigerator or freezer, please ensure that:

  • A person who is 18 years or older is available to accept your delivery during your scheduled time window.
  • The delivery path is clear of any obstacles.¹
  • Any old appliances are unplugged from the wall and disconnected from any other components.²

¹ Remote delivery customers must clear their driveway and walkways of obstacles for delivery to the door. If the delivery truck can’t reach your home because the driveway or walkway is blocked, delivery will be curbside.

² Please note that our delivery partners will not disconnect your old appliances. They also do not provide any installations.


When your refrigerator or freezer arrives

If you live in a major urban area, our delivery partners will:

  • Move your old appliance to another room in your house or outside for disposal (unless it violates municipal regulations—please check your local regulations)
  • Place and level your new appliance where requested

If you live in a remote area, please note that appliances can only be delivered to your door.


Installation and recycling services

Need help connecting your new refrigerator to a waterline? Our expert technicians will install a waterline for your new refrigerator and can even haul away and recycle your old refrigerator. Waterline installation and appliance recycling will be completed after your new unit is delivered.


Installation services

Installation comes at an additional cost, and includes:

  • Provide a 20 ft. copper waterline hose, if required.
  • De-pressurize the main cold-water system, as required.
  • Purge air from the main system as required.
  • Pressurize new cold-water feed to rinse out any contaminants from the line.
  • Connect the tubing to the refrigerator and check all connections.
  • Remove and recycle all packaging from the new unit, along with any waste from installation.

Recycling services

Need your old appliance recycled? We can safely remove and properly recycle your old appliance at the same time your new one is delivered. For more information about booking this service and pricing details, please read our Haul Away and Recycle service guide.


Remote areas

Please note that installation, recycling, and haul away services are not available in remote areas.
